2. Syllabus Notes<br />

a. Flights in this block shall consist of a minimum of<br />

three approaches. During each flight, the SNA should execute<br />

holding and/or point-to-point navigation.<br />

b. SNA shall call the instructor the night prior for route<br />

of flight/details. SNA shall show up to the brief with a<br />

completed DD 175 and Jet Log.<br />

c. I44 block flights should originate or terminate at<br />

airfields other than South Whiting to the maximum extent<br />

possible.<br />

Required equipment for night flight, straight-in/circle-toland<br />

approach, electrical system malfunctions while IMC,<br />

flight control malfunctions while IMC, enroute/feeder<br />

routes, minimum safe altitudes/emergency safe altitudes,<br />

MOCA/MCA/MRA, DD 175 and DD 175-1.<br />

designations), GCA lost comm, airport approach/runway<br />

lighting, inoperative components or visual aids table,<br />

“Execute missed approach,” missed approach from<br />

DH/MDA/circling, instrument approach/communications at an<br />

uncontrolled airport, lost communications procedures on an<br />

IFR flight plan, sidestep maneuver, weather sources,<br />

standard instrument rating requirements.
