The new EU ‘Noise
at Work’ Directive
Die Lärm- und Vibrationsschutz-Verordnung vom
März 2007
Ab März 2007 traten neue Grenzwerte für
zulässigen Lärm am Arbeitsplatz in Kraft. Dies
gilt für Industrie und Handwerk. Viele Betriebe
müssen den Gehörschutz für ihre Mitarbeiter neu
einführen oder verbessern. Häufig ist die
Gehörschutz-Otoplastik die richtige und auf Dauer
auch kostengünstige Lösung.
Für den aktiven Hörakustiker ist dies die Chance,
sich einen neuen Geschäftsbereich zu er-
schließen. Der Bedarf ist da. Die Verantwortlichen
in den Betrieben sind auf Beratung und Unter-
stützung angewiesen.

Die Lärm-Schutzverordnung
Gültig ab März 2007
Die Richtlinie dient dem Schutz der Arbeitnehmer vor
betrieblichem Lärm und gibt Mindestvorschriften vor.
Abweichend vom bisherigen Regelwerk werden dann in einigen
Bereichen Verschärfungen gelten. Zum einen, weil die
Grenzwerte um 5 dB (A) abgesenkt werden, zum anderen wegen
neuer Forderungen bei der Gefährdungsbeurteilung.
Wird ab Februar 2006 die untere Auslöseschwelle von 80 dB (A)
überschritten (bislang 85 dB(A)), so muss der Unternehmer
persönlichen Gehörschutz zur Verfügung stellen. Wird der obere
Expositionsauslösewert von 85 dB (A) erreicht (bislang 90 dB (A)),
hat der Beschäftigte die ausdrückliche Pflicht, den Gehörschutz
zu tragen.
Das Gehör verkraftet maximal eine Lautstärke von
85 dB (A) bis zu 40 Stunden pro Woche, ohne
Schaden zu nehmen. Bei 95 dB (A) verkürzt sich
die zumutbare Zeitspanne bereits auf vier Stunden
pro Woche.
The European ‘Noise at Work’ Directive – a great
challenge
From February 2006 new limit values regarding
the daily noise exposure levels will come into
force. This is binding for industry and trade. Many
companies have to introduce hearing protection
for their employees or have to improve it. The
hearing protection earmold is often the right and
in the long run the economical solution.
This is an access for the active hearing aid
acoustician to a new lucrative market. There is a
need. The responsible persons in the companies
depend on advice and support.
Hearing can stand a maximum volume of
85 dB (A) up to 40 hours a week without suffering
damage. At a volume of 95 dB (A) the safe noise
level is already reduced to 4 hours a week.

The European ‘Noise at Work’ Directive
Comes into effect from 15 February 2006
This Directive lays down minimum requirements for the
protection of workers from risks arising from exposure to noise.
Different to the former Directive, the values of some sectors
will be tightened. On the one hand because the exposure limit
values have been reduced by 5 dB (A) and on the other hand
because of new demands on the appraisal of risks.
From 15 February 2006 the employer must make individual
hearing protectors available to workers where noise exposure
exceeds the lower exposure action value of 80 dB (A). Where
noise exposure matches or exceeds the upper exposure action
value of 85 dB (A) (up to now 90 dB (A)), individual hearing
protectors must be used.
