Ibr\h|m berated him: ‘So if you do not possess the capability to defend<br />

yourself against death enabling you to repent, <strong>and</strong> you know that<br />

when it comes you cannot possibly delay it, how can you still possess<br />

the audacity in even hoping to avoid this, while continuing to sin.’<br />

‘Finally on the day of reckoning when the warders of <strong>Hell</strong> come to drag<br />

you off to an infernal end, don’t go with them.’<br />

<strong>The</strong> saddened reply came “But they will never leave me nor will they<br />

show mercy upon me by acknowledging my cries! I will not be able to<br />

overpower them nor can I hope to escape.”<br />

Ibr\h|m explained ‘If you still sin, how then can you ever hope to<br />

succeed?’<br />

Grasping the meaning of the reply the person lowered his head <strong>and</strong><br />

replied: “Enough! Enough! While bearing this in mind I will find it<br />

extremely hard to continue in sin. I seek All\h’s forgiveness <strong>and</strong> turn to<br />

him repenting.”<br />

Kit\b at Taww\b|n of al Muquddas|<br />

Indeed if a person were to consider these points as often as possible<br />

then he too will find it hard to disobey All\h I.<br />

‘Prepare yourself with the fear of All\h,<br />

as without doubt you cannot know.<br />

That when night falls, then with the break of dawn<br />

will your life still definitely show?’<br />

From an Arabic Poem<br />

‘Make provisions! Indeed the best provision is Taqw\.’ al Baqarah<br />

Taqw\ (fear of All\h I) consists primarily of two things:<br />
