MISSING HIS MUM
ÜNearly two decades after losing his mother, Prince William
harbors one big regret: She will never know wife Kate
Middleton or her grandkids. “I would love her . . . to have seen
the children grow up,” he told British GQ of the late Princess Diana. “It
makes me sad that she won’t, that they will never know her.” A palace
source says the royal, 34, misses her “during little moments” such as
dinners with Kate, 35, Prince George, 3, and Princess Charlotte, 2,
“and also bigger moments, like George’s first steps.” To make Diana’s
presence felt, adds the source, “they share photos of her with the kids.”
Ensuring the public remembers Diana is equally important to William
and his brother, Prince Harry. As he explains in the upcoming BBC
documentary Diana, “We feel we owe her, 20 years on, to stand up for
her name and remind everybody of the character and person she was.”
She got it from her mama. At just 5 years old, Arabella
Kushner already has mom Ivanka Trump’s defining characteristic,
the former Trump Organization VP revealed in
a September interview with Harper’s Bazaar: “She knows
exactly what to say to get what she wants.” And what to
do. Ivanka once told Us that her grade-schooler will withhold
hugs and affection to get Mom to agree to her terms. Joked
Ivanka, “She uses that against me like a weapon. She knows
how to play me like a fiddle.” While the
manipulation can prove challenging, the
35-year-old — also mom of Joseph, 3, and
“She doesn’t agree
Kushner — is well aware of how
her executive-in-training picked up
those skills. “She’s like me,” she told
Harper’s Bazaar. “Everything’s a
negotiation.”
Never has that been more true for
Ivanka than now. Since accepting
a role in dad Donald’s presidential
administration — in March the
onetime Seventeen cover model
turned real estate executive took an
unpaid special assistant position —
she has battled the 70-year-old
about everything from LGBT rights
to the North American Free Trade
Agreement. (According to reports,
Kushner, a senior adviser for
Trump, convinced him to remain in
the 23-year-old pact.) While many
assumed the polished business
exec — and her real estate investor
husband, 36 — would serve as
a calming influence on Donald,
Ivanka has struggled at times to
get the president on her side. The
latest blow: his decision to pull
out of the Paris Agreement, part
of the global effort to fight climate
change. Though leaving the accord,
signed in 2015 by every country except
Nicaragua and Syria, was one
of Donald’s campaign promises,
Ivanka openly tried to sway him.
Her home sweet: a
6,870-square-foot
Colonial a mere
two miles from the
White House.
She spoke with Leonardo DiCaprio
about his 2016 documentary Before
the Flood, met with Environmental
Protection Agency head
Scott Pruitt and even arranged a
sit-down with Donald and environmental
activist and former vice
president Al Gore at Trump Tower.
A source close to Ivanka says she
was disappointed by his decision,
but she’s learned to take such defeats
in stride. “Sometimes she and
Jared are a big influence on Donald
and sometimes he takes other
opinions into account and does
something they disagree with,” says
another Ivanka insider. “They win
some and they lose some.”
IVANKA’S ISSUES
Despite telling The New York Times
she’s “still at the early stages of
learning how everything works,”
Ivanka has already notched a
number of victories. In January,
the socially liberal NYC native and
her husband — whose inner circle
includes heavyweight Democrats
such as Hollywood bigwig David
Geffen, producer Brian Grazer and,
GOES
GLOBAL
The first daughter
stepped up on the
president’s first
trip abroad
She skipped a head
covering, but Ivanka (with
Kushner) opted for a
demure dress in Riyadh,
Saudi Arabia, May 20.
|
at one point, Chelsea Clinton —
persuaded Donald not to overturn
President Barack Obama’s order
protecting the LGBT community
from discrimination in the workplace.
“That was all because of
them,” an insider says of the real
estate scions. “They stood strongly
and told Donald they would not tolerate
that. LGBT rights are a major
priority for them.”
Women’s issues are also huge for
Ivanka, who turned her “Women
Who Work” hashtag into a bestselling
book. She has said she
wants to create a federal paid leave
program, more affordable child
care and a global fund for female
entrepreneurs. And, according to
a family source, “she’s been taking
a lot of meetings to forward issues
she believes in, such as women in
technology and coding.”
Rounding out her list of priorities:
deportation, education and
helping Syrian refugees. The New
York Times reported that the mom
of three recently asked United Nations
ambassador Nikki R. Haley
about getting aid into the country
and — in stark contrast to her
father’s policy banning all Syrian
refugees from entering the United
States — she spoke about
the need to help in an
April interview with
NBC. “I think there is
a global humanitarian
crisis that’s happenin
she said, “and we hav
to come together, an
we have to solve it.”
Her decision to
speak out, like all
her moves, was deli
very intentional ab
gets involved,” says a family
source. “Both she and Jared left
multibillion-dollar businesses
because they want to serve and the
issues they care about are very important
to them.” Echoes the family
insider of the pair: “They represent
more liberal issues and are a necessary
balance in the White House.”
DAUGHTER DEAREST
Not to mention, Ivanka offers
a unique skill set. As Donald’s
beloved daughter, “she’s the person
he listens to more than anyone,”
says an Ivanka friend. And the
expert negotiator knows just how to
work him. “She’s learned to let him
get his outbursts off his chest and
then rationally explain other points
of view,” says the friend. Agrees the
Ivanka source, “That’s the way to
get things accomplished — not by
shouting and screaming.” Instead,
she speaks calmly but
directly. “Where I disagree
with my father, he knows
t,” she told Gayle King
nanApril5interview.
AndIexpressmyselfwith
And should she fail to
those,” she explained to The
ARIANA GRANDE
A FEARLESS
MESSAGE
2
At her One Love Manchester benefit
concert June 4, a resilient Ariana Grande
showed the world that love always wins
1
Ariana Grande refused to sit
idly by. Nearly two weeks
after a suicide bombing
claimed 22 lives — mostly
adolescent fans — and left 120
injured at her May 22 Manchester,
England, concert, the pop star set
out to heal the heartbreak. With the
help of manager Scooter Braun, the
23-year-old recruited some of the
music industry’s biggest stars — including
Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus,
Katy Perry and Coldplay — for
her One Love Manchester benefit
concert at England’s Emirates Old
Trafford Cricket Ground. Taking
the stage for the first time since
the attack, an emotional Grande
praised the 50,000 fans gathered in
the sold-out arena: “I think the kind
of love and unity you’re displaying is
the medicine the world needs right
now.” The dosage was just right. The
three-hour show raised $13 million
for victims of the attack and was a
stirring display of resolve in the face
of terror. “Evil will test us,” Braun
told the crowd. “Fear will never
divide us, because on this day, we all
stood with Manchester.”
Ariana Grande joined Will.i.am and the Black Eyed
The band encouraged the audience to raise their
hands up in a heart shape. An emotional Justin
Bieber said, “I’m not going to let go of hope.”
Miley Cyrus called taking part in the tribute show
a “no-brainer.” Before the concert, fans patiently
moved through security lines for over an hour.
On the back and neckline of Katy Perry’s dress:
will give you strength,” she said. Welcoming
boyfriend Mac Miller to the stage, Grande said,
“Tonight is all about love.” After meeting with the
mother of 15-year-old Olivia Campbell, one of the
attack’s victims, Grande changed her set list, telling
the crowd, “She told me Olivia would have wanted
to hear the hits.” Coldplay’s Chris Martin led the
stadium in a sing-along to Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back
in Anger.” Pharrell told the crowd “the only thing
we’ll feel here tonight is love and positivity.”
While the dress is so far
With at least two other
Dancing With the Stars
year, Slater, 28, has said she’s
determined to make her wedding
to her Australian fiancé “different.”
(Farber’s on-air proposal
last fall certainly was.) The
duo initially imagined throwing
a medium-sized soiree in
Los Angeles “the second the
told Us, but most details are
still TBD. “This summer I’m
pro hockey player love, 33,
normally don’t mind playing to a
sizable crowd, but their early July
ceremony will be different: a
“small and intimate” affair with
“mainly friends and family,” according
to 28-year-old Hough.
“It will probably be outdoors because
we’re such outdoorsy
people,” she tells Us. “I want it
to smell woodsy, fresh with florals
and campfire-esque.” (That
shouldn’t be a stretch: A source
reports her family’s Utah lake
house is a likely setting.) Laich
has his own wish list, which
Hough has said includes doing a
choreographed dance: “Even before
we met, as a kid, he really
wanted to dance.”
With reporting by Brody Brown & Travis Cronin
Scott Disick just wanted to keep
the night alive. Upon leaving
Central London’s Toy Room
nightclub around 3:30 a.m.
June 1, the single reality star and a
brunette (right) headed to a Chelsea
after stopping at a liquor store,
an eyewitness tells Us. The group
blasted dance music inside until the
34-year-old emerged onto a balcony
with the second woman, who
removed her top. “He was touching
her and they were flirty,” adds the
onlooker. “Scott had a drink in his
hand and one guy had drugs inside.”
An eyewitness
says Disick “seemed
very drunk when
he left the club”
in London June 1.
many women, including actress
Bella Thorne, ex Chloe Bartoli,
blogger Maggie Petrova and model
Ella Ross. Meanwhile, Kourtney
Kardashian — with whom he
shares Mason, 7, Penelope, 4, and
Reign, 2 — made herself a onewoman
man in the South of France,
cuddling up to her 23-year-old
model beau, Younes Bendjima.
“Scott’s behavior is completely connected
to his jealousy,” a source tells
Us. “He’s trying to show the world
he’s moving on, but this is the worst
he’s ever been.”
NO CANNES DO
Disick, who’s been in rehab four
times since March 2015, spent multiple
nights along the French Riviera
observes the insider.
Understandably, his recent lifestyle
choices have Kardashian, 38,
“worried,” the source explains. “The
partying is symptomatic of situations
in the past with him where he
has been in a really bad place.”
From Cannes, the father of three
jetted to Monaco — where he reunited
with Bartoli — and then Ibiza,
before landing in London May 31.
“It’s not a good look,” the pal adds of
Disick’s continuous boozing. “And
when you’re partying that hard and
you’re prone to addictive behavior,
there’s a concern someone could die.”
Disick’s bustling social life shows no
signs of letting up, however. Admits
the source, “Scott hasn’t shown a lot
of remorse about his behavior.” apple
Rob Clears
the Air
False start: When a source
claimed to Us May 31 that Rob
Kardashian had been dating Bad Girls
Club alum Mehgan James “for three
months,” it seemed he’d moved on
from his yearlong relationship with
Blac Chyna. The next day, however,
the reality star, 30, tweeted that
he “never even met or heard of”
the Texan, 27. Her rep then added
that James “is not dating Rob.”
How To: Fix Your Fatigue
and Get More Energy
According to patients at the Center for
Restorative Medicine, a discovery has
completely transformed their lives.
Founder and Director Dr. Steven
Gundry is a world-renowned heart surgeon,
a best-selling author, and the
personal physician to many celebrities.
But his breakthrough could be the most
important accomplishment of his career.
Dr. Gundry has unveiled a simple — yet
highly effective — solution to issues that
plague millions of Americans over 40:
low energy, low metabolism and constant
fatigue.
“When you’re feeling low energy, that’s
your body screaming HELP!” Dr. Gundry’s
radical solution was inspired by a
breakthrough with a “hopeless” patient
who had been massively overweight,
chronically fatigued and suffering from
severely clogged arteries.
The secret to his breakthrough? “There
are key ‘micronutrients’ missing from
your diet,” Dr. Gundry said, “If you can
replenish them in very high dosages, the
results can be astonishing.”
This unorthodox philosophy is what led
Dr. Gundry to create an at-home method
for fatigue — which has since become
remarkably successful with his patients.
“They’re reporting natural, long-lasting
energy without a ‘crash’ and they’re
IHHOLQJVOLP¿WDQGDFWLYH´KHUHYHDOHG
yesterday.
Dr. Gundry’s team released a comprehensive
video presentation , so that
the public can be educated as to exactly
how it works.
Watch the presentation here at www.
GetEnergy24.com
Within just a few hours, this video had
gotten thousands of hits, and is now
considered to have gone viral. One viewer
commented: “If this works, it’s exactly
what I’ve been praying for my whole life.
I’ve never seen anything like this solution
before…the truth about my diet was
shocking and eye-opening.”
It makes a lot of sense, and it sounds
great in theory, but we’ll have to wait and
see what the results are. Knowing Dr.
Gundry, however, there is a great deal of
potential.
