Using the energy you’ve generated, bring your palms right above your spleen (on the left side of your body behind the lower edge of your rib cage), with your fingertips facing in. Start to rock from side to side and turn your inner vision to look into your spleen and smile at it. Visualize the spleen being bathed in a golden, yellow light, like sunlight through stalks of wheat in a large open field at the close of a late summer day. 2. Breathe deeply and naturally as you scan the spleen from left to right with your inner vision and rock back and forth twenty-one times in all, deleting worry and anxiety on every exhalation. 3. After twenty-one sets of rocking, inhale and round your body slightly forward as you bring your arms toward one another in front of your body in a gathering motion, sweeping earth chi into your stomach and spleen on the left side of your abdomen and the pancreas on the right side of your abdomen. 4. Keeping your eyes open, exhale and press the first three fingertips of each hand gently but firmly into your spleen, on the left side of the rib cage, slightly below your sternum. Now round your torso forward into a deeper C shape, using the movement as a means to accentuate the action you are performing with your hands, pressing progressively deeper into the spleen and compressing it. Begin to make the healing sound “Whoooo,” like the beginning of a guttural, almost gurgling sound deep in the throat, riding into a wave that becomes a kind of deep whisper. Feel the vibrations of the sound initiating the clearing of stagnant chi. 5. Inhale to rise upright again and use your deepest abdominal muscles to actively push your fingertips out of the depression you created by pressing into your spleen. 6. Inhaling, bring your arms out to your sides, with palms facing up, and make a scooping motion in a small and gentle low arc to gather earth energy before returning to your tall, effortless, relaxed seat, where you will resume swaying from side to side. 7. You will immediately convert this fresh earth energy into the warming golden glow of healing yellow light energy. Visualize it pouring into your spleen, pancreas, and stomach through your palms, which will now come to rest right above your spleen to do their healing work of radiating courage, groundedness, openness, and fairness directly into the organ. Resume your gentle swaying motion, and breathe deeply and smoothly with your hands above your spleen. 8. Transition by placing your palms on your knees. Now as you sway, look from your spleen (left) to your pancreas (right), eyes moving in tandem with the action of your body. Use this as your opportunity to let go of worry, anxiety, and mistrust. Feel the vibration of the healing spleen sound currents continuing to reverberate throughout your stomach, spleen, and pancreas, removing any last residue of excess heat. Let it all go, sending it down to Mother Earth. Smile at your spleen, pancreas, and stomach, and enjoy the feelings of stability and peace that are riding in on the currents of soothing golden light.

9. Harness the joy you’ve just cultivated and with your inner vision bring it to wrap around the stomach, spleen, and pancreas. See a vibrant golden light emanating from your stomach, spleen, and pancreas. 10. As you wrap the energy of love and joy around your stomach, spleen, and pancreas, bring your hands back above your spleen and start to rock your body forward and back. Think of this as a kind of “organ love break dance.” Next begin moving in a circular motion to create an inner globe of energy, folding love, joy, happiness, appreciation, openness, and trust into the orb of energy you are creating, bringing your body forward and back like a wave rolling up onto the shore and then receding. Breathe pure goodness into your stomach, spleen, and pancreas, smiling at them, and let go of any remaining anxiety, a sheer receding echo of the emotions that were once present. Rest, let go, and relax. 11. Repeat the above sequence three to six times, as you did with the preceding organ-cleansing sequences. Increase the number of repetitions, doing as many as you deem necessary, if you are experiencing nausea, indigestion, acid reflux, intestinal distress, or constipation. You may also increase the frequency or length of your practice if you are feeling anxious or worried. Cosmic Healing Sound for the Triple Warmer: Heeeee In traditional Chinese medicine, the three elixir fields, the primary energy centers in the body, which are located in the lower, middle, and upper sections of the body and encompass, or “preside over,” particular organs, when taken all together, are known as the triple warmer. Among other things, the triple warmer is involved in thermal regulation of the body so that each part of the body functions optimally. Its sound regulates the body’s internal temperature, redistributing the excess heat that can rise to the head and heart from stress, bringing it down to warm the kidneys, which are always happy to receive any extra love and warmth they can get, thus helping you “cool off” and find calm. Note: This exercise can be performed either sitting on a chair and leaning back with your legs extended in front of you or lying down on your back—in the qigong equivalent of savasana (Corpse Pose from yoga). This cosmic healing sound does not have a set of corresponding organs, emotions, or related senses or an element, season, or color, because it encompasses the central aspect of the body. Mouth position: Mouth forms a smile with the tongue in a semineutral position behind the lower teeth to create the “Heeeee” sound. 1. Sitting tall or lying down, rub your hands together vigorously and then inhale and sweep your arms out and around your body, gathering powerful, healing universal chi along the way. 2. With your palms facing you and starting at your head, exhale and make the healing sound
