1. Sitting tall, inhale <strong>and</strong> rub your h<strong>and</strong>s <strong>to</strong>gether vigorously. Using the energy you’ve generated,<br />

bring your palms right above your spleen (on the left side of your body behind the lower edge of<br />

your rib cage), with your fingertips facing in. Start <strong>to</strong> rock from side <strong>to</strong> side <strong>and</strong> turn your inner<br />

vision <strong>to</strong> look in<strong>to</strong> your spleen <strong>and</strong> smile at it. Visualize the spleen being bathed in a golden,<br />

yellow light, like sunlight through stalks of wheat in a large open field at the close of a late<br />

summer day.<br />

2. Breathe deeply <strong>and</strong> naturally as you scan the spleen from left <strong>to</strong> right with your inner vision <strong>and</strong><br />

rock back <strong>and</strong> forth twenty-one times in all, deleting worry <strong>and</strong> anxiety on every exhalation.<br />

3. After twenty-one sets of rocking, inhale <strong>and</strong> round your body slightly forward as you bring your<br />

arms <strong>to</strong>ward one another in front of your body in a gathering motion, sweeping earth chi in<strong>to</strong> your<br />

s<strong>to</strong>mach <strong>and</strong> spleen on the left side of your abdomen <strong>and</strong> the pancreas on the right side of your<br />

abdomen.<br />

4. Keeping your eyes open, exhale <strong>and</strong> press the first three fingertips of each h<strong>and</strong> gently but firmly<br />

in<strong>to</strong> your spleen, on the left side of the rib cage, slightly below your sternum. Now round your<br />

<strong>to</strong>rso forward in<strong>to</strong> a deeper C shape, using the movement as a means <strong>to</strong> accentuate the action you<br />

are performing with your h<strong>and</strong>s, pressing progressively deeper in<strong>to</strong> the spleen <strong>and</strong> compressing<br />

it. Begin <strong>to</strong> make the healing sound “Whoooo,” like the beginning of a guttural, almost gurgling<br />

sound deep in the throat, riding in<strong>to</strong> a wave that becomes a kind of deep whisper. Feel the<br />

vibrations of the sound initiating the clearing of stagnant chi.<br />

5. Inhale <strong>to</strong> rise upright again <strong>and</strong> use your deepest abdominal muscles <strong>to</strong> actively push your<br />

fingertips out of the depression you created by pressing in<strong>to</strong> your spleen.<br />

6. Inhaling, bring your arms out <strong>to</strong> your sides, with palms facing up, <strong>and</strong> make a scooping motion in<br />

a small <strong>and</strong> gentle low arc <strong>to</strong> gather earth energy before returning <strong>to</strong> your tall, effortless, relaxed<br />

seat, where you will resume swaying from side <strong>to</strong> side.<br />

7. You will immediately convert this fresh earth energy in<strong>to</strong> the warming golden glow of healing<br />

yellow light energy. Visualize it pouring in<strong>to</strong> your spleen, pancreas, <strong>and</strong> s<strong>to</strong>mach through your<br />

palms, which will now come <strong>to</strong> rest right above your spleen <strong>to</strong> do their healing work of radiating<br />

courage, groundedness, openness, <strong>and</strong> fairness directly in<strong>to</strong> the organ. Resume your gentle<br />

swaying motion, <strong>and</strong> breathe deeply <strong>and</strong> smoothly with your h<strong>and</strong>s above your spleen.<br />

8. Transition by placing your palms on your knees. Now as you sway, look from your spleen (left)<br />

<strong>to</strong> your pancreas (right), eyes moving in t<strong>and</strong>em with the action of your body. Use this as your<br />

opportunity <strong>to</strong> let go of worry, anxiety, <strong>and</strong> mistrust. Feel the vibration of the healing spleen<br />

sound currents continuing <strong>to</strong> reverberate throughout your s<strong>to</strong>mach, spleen, <strong>and</strong> pancreas,<br />

removing any last residue of excess heat. Let it all go, sending it down <strong>to</strong> Mother Earth. Smile at<br />

your spleen, pancreas, <strong>and</strong> s<strong>to</strong>mach, <strong>and</strong> enjoy the feelings of stability <strong>and</strong> peace that are riding<br />

in on the currents of soothing golden light.
