1. Sitting tall, inhale <strong>and</strong> rub your h<strong>and</strong>s <strong>to</strong>gether vigorously. Using the energy you’ve just generated,<br />

bring your palms right above your heart with your left fingertips slightly overlapping your right<br />

fingertips, thumbs pointing upward. Turn your vision inward <strong>to</strong>ward the heart <strong>and</strong> smile at your<br />

heart as you start <strong>to</strong> sway from left <strong>to</strong> right. Close your eyes <strong>and</strong> imagine the colors of a sunset,<br />

brilliant shades of red, orange, <strong>and</strong> pink, <strong>and</strong> breathe this vibrant light <strong>and</strong> energy in<strong>to</strong> your heart.<br />

2. As you breathe <strong>and</strong> look from left <strong>to</strong> right at your heart, scan for impatience, jealousy, <strong>and</strong> hatred.<br />

Whatever emerges, allow yourself <strong>to</strong> feel it <strong>and</strong> start <strong>to</strong> delete it, allowing your heart <strong>to</strong> ride the<br />

motion of the body from left <strong>to</strong> right in t<strong>and</strong>em with your eyes, as they explore the inner<br />

<strong>to</strong>pography of your heart.<br />

3. Complete twenty-one sets of looking left <strong>to</strong> right, breathing naturally as you do, while you<br />

consciously delete the shadow-side emotions of the heart (hatred, impatience, jealousy, <strong>and</strong><br />

envy). With your breath, send them down in<strong>to</strong> the earth below.<br />

4. Now, as you inhale, bend your elbows <strong>and</strong> raise your palms up <strong>to</strong>ward the ceiling at the sides of<br />

your body. Then continue <strong>to</strong> circle your arms up until they are overhead, framing the <strong>to</strong>p of your<br />

head.<br />

5. Interlace your fingers <strong>and</strong> invert your palms so that they face up. Then lean your <strong>to</strong>rso over <strong>to</strong> the<br />

right, with an emphasis on mobilizing the rib cage itself, feeling a deep stretch in the left side of<br />

your body, down in<strong>to</strong> the heart <strong>and</strong> the pericardium, which is the heart protec<strong>to</strong>r, a fascial sac<br />

surrounding the heart.<br />

6. Lift your head <strong>and</strong> with eyes open, look up directly at the back of your h<strong>and</strong>s, still leaning over <strong>to</strong><br />

the right. As you progressively stretch your arms with greater energy <strong>and</strong> emphasis, press the left
