6. Anchoring yourself by using your left h<strong>and</strong> <strong>to</strong> grab the fingers of the right, pull your spine more<br />

strongly back in opposition <strong>to</strong> your knees so that your arms are straight. Keep your eyes open <strong>and</strong><br />

look straight ahead.<br />

7. As you exhale, simultaneously actively draw your abdominal muscles in <strong>to</strong>ward your spine <strong>and</strong><br />

round your mouth in<strong>to</strong> an O shape while you make the healing sound “Choooo.” This deep C<br />

shape in your body conducts the vibration of the healing sound <strong>to</strong> the kidneys <strong>and</strong> lends itself <strong>to</strong><br />

an internal compression that expels excess heat <strong>and</strong> <strong>to</strong>xins from the fascia surrounding them.<br />

8. As you are creating the Choooo sound, picture yourself sending all your fear down in<strong>to</strong> the earth<br />

below, where it will be transformed <strong>and</strong> recycled. As with the other healing sounds, perform the<br />

first round of the sound audibly, <strong>and</strong> then with each subsequent repetition refine the sound until it<br />

is subvocal <strong>and</strong> exclusively internal. <strong>Your</strong> ability <strong>to</strong> subvocalize speaks <strong>to</strong> your growing ability<br />

<strong>to</strong> master the details of your practice.<br />

9. As you inhale again, release your hold on your knees <strong>and</strong> circle your arms <strong>to</strong> either side up<br />

around your body, moving them slowly until they are overhead <strong>and</strong> turning the palms face up<br />

<strong>to</strong>ward the ceiling. Throughout the movement visualize yourself collecting the azure light that<br />

surrounds your body <strong>and</strong> supercharging it with heaven chi. As your arms continue moving slowly,<br />

pass them down <strong>to</strong> the front of your body. Simultaneously, see blue light pouring in through your<br />

crown <strong>and</strong> traveling down in<strong>to</strong> your Sea of Chi, where it infuses your kidneys with its healing<br />

properties.<br />

10. Allow your h<strong>and</strong>s <strong>to</strong> come <strong>to</strong> rest in front of your heart. Gather earth energy through your h<strong>and</strong>s<br />

for a breath, then bring your palms down <strong>to</strong> rest on your knees. Open your legs <strong>to</strong> wider than hipwidth<br />

apart <strong>and</strong> ensure that your feet are firmly planted on the floor. Direct all the earth <strong>and</strong><br />

heaven energy you’ve collected in<strong>to</strong> your Lower Elixir Field <strong>to</strong> replenish the kidneys.<br />

11. Now practice your Inner Smile: rock your body from side <strong>to</strong> side <strong>and</strong>, as you do, look left <strong>to</strong><br />

right, in<strong>to</strong> one kidney <strong>and</strong> then the other, <strong>and</strong> smile at them. Visualize a deep blue light<br />

surrounding both of your kidneys <strong>and</strong> emanating from them. See this healing light grow <strong>to</strong><br />

surround your entire body in an ocean of blue love.<br />

12. Once again, as you continue <strong>to</strong> rock your body ever so gently from left <strong>to</strong> right, return your h<strong>and</strong>s<br />

<strong>to</strong> your kidneys. With every breath you take, breathe in soothing gentle blue stillness <strong>and</strong> calm<br />

in<strong>to</strong> your kidneys <strong>and</strong> exhale excess heat <strong>and</strong> fear. Hear the sound of ocean waves or a gurgling<br />

brook reverberating inside you, expelling excess heat <strong>and</strong> <strong>to</strong>xins from the kidneys. Invite the<br />

cooling, blue energy of water <strong>to</strong> bathe the kidneys, res<strong>to</strong>ring them <strong>to</strong> the sweet, clean warmth of<br />

radiant health. Allow the new, warming energy <strong>to</strong> nurture <strong>and</strong> relax the muscles of your lower<br />

back. Smile at your kidneys, letting them know that it is safe <strong>to</strong> release, <strong>to</strong> heal, <strong>and</strong> <strong>to</strong> be<br />

res<strong>to</strong>red.<br />

13. Release any last residue of fear you may feel. Let go. Even though you’re no longer actively<br />

making the Choooo sound now, invite the healing sound <strong>to</strong> continue <strong>to</strong> do its good work,<br />

vibrating <strong>and</strong> ushering in perfect quietude <strong>and</strong> healing stillness. Remind yourself <strong>to</strong> take this<br />

gentle quality, this stillness <strong>and</strong> calm, in<strong>to</strong> your life, extending the practice <strong>and</strong> its benefits in<strong>to</strong><br />

your every moment, knowing that the next time you are overcome by fear, you can breathe it out<br />

<strong>and</strong> access the cool, soothing blue energy of the water <strong>to</strong> guide you home again.<br />

14. Repeat the above sequence three <strong>to</strong> six times. In moments of fear <strong>and</strong> emotional duress or<br />

whenever you feel fatigued or depleted or have ringing in your ears, dizziness, or lower-back
