Your Cosmic Courtship Ritual
The cosmic healing sounds in this practice can be used to heal six major types of organs and
associated body parts and systems. Each organ has its own unique physical, mental, emotional, and
spiritual associations. Meditations that incorporate these associations can be used in tandem with the
Inner Smile and Cosmic Healing Sounds practice to balance and harmonize an organ when you are
feeling unwell or as a preventative measure to maintain well-being. In the descriptions that precede
each of the six cosmic healing sounds, you’ll find the following information.
• Mouth position: A description of how to make the cosmic healing sound.
• Paired organs: Every organ is paired with one or more other organs along meridians. When you
heal one, you heal the other(s). For example, the lungs are paired via their meridians with the
large intestine.
• Emotions: Every organ is associated with certain emotions. When you heal an emotion, you heal
the organ. When you heal the organ, the emotions it governs are brought back into balance.
• Signs of imbalance: When an organ is imbalanced, certain physical conditions emerge to indicate
that healing work needs to be done.
• Benefits: When you bring an organ into balance, there are mental and emotional benefits.
• Related senses: Each organ is associated with one or more of the physical senses: sight, sound,
smell, taste, and touch.
• Element: Each organ is associated with a different element from nature: fire, water, earth, air, or
metal.
• Sound: Each organ resonates with a sound related to its corresponding natural element.
• Season: Each organ is associated with a different season of the year: winter, spring, summer, or
autumn.
• Color: Each organ is associated with a different color.
By now you’ve no doubt come to understand that full integration of all the components that
comprise an exercise is more important than focusing exclusively on a single aspect of it. The first
time you attempt something, such as making a specific sound while holding a posture, of course you
should focus intently on it to ensure that you’re doing it properly. But once you feel comfortable with
the main elements of the practice, start to add in other layers and aspects, such as colors and
emotions, so that it can deliver its full healing potency to you. Remember, as Master Chia says, you
are “rallying the troops.”
