Rite Six: Abdominal Massage The Tibetans say that this special sixth rite will turn you into a superbeing. For the Abdominal Massage to be truly effective, the monks say that you must practice celibacy, primarily because you preserve your life force more effectively by not “giving away your power.” For instance, when men ejaculate, they give away their power because their primary source of energy is in their sexual essence, and by abstaining they retain it. However, if you have read Chapter 5 and feel comfortable with your level of proficiency with the Unleash and Transform practice, you’ve earned the right to try this one. Not only does this massage detoxify the internal organs; it stimulates kundalini shakti and concentrates it in the third, the Solar Plexus Chakra, in an extra powerful way, making it available for more potent and immediate distribution throughout your entire subtle body. 1. Stand comfortably and exhale as you bend forward from your waist, placing your hands on your knees. 2. Expel the last bit of air from your lungs and without taking in new breath, return to an erect position. 3. Place your hands on your hips, with your fingers to the front, and press as hard as you can while sucking in your abdomen. This will raise your shoulders and chest. 4. Holding in your abdomen, squeeze your perineum to emphasize the upward thrust. 5. Hold this position. With your eyes closed, bring your internal focus to the third eye, the point between your eyebrows, so that all the energy from your lower chakras will be encouraged to rise up to the higher energy centers with your conscious attention as the driver. 6. Repeat three times. Lie down on your back in a fully relaxed position and rest for a few minutes afterwards. Tip: When you must take a breath during the sixth rite, breathe in through your nose and then exhale through your mouth as you drop your arms down to your sides to relax. Take in several normal breaths through your nose and mouth before beginning again.
