Rite Six: Abdominal Massage<br />

The Tibetans say that this special sixth rite will turn you in<strong>to</strong> a superbeing. For the Abdominal<br />

Massage <strong>to</strong> be truly effective, the monks say that you must practice celibacy, primarily because you<br />

preserve your life force more effectively by not “giving away your power.” For instance, when men<br />

ejaculate, they give away their power because their primary source of energy is in their sexual<br />

essence, <strong>and</strong> by abstaining they retain it.<br />

However, if you have read Chapter 5 <strong>and</strong> feel comfortable with your level of proficiency with the<br />

<strong>Unleash</strong> <strong>and</strong> Transform practice, you’ve earned the right <strong>to</strong> try this one. Not only does this massage<br />

de<strong>to</strong>xify the internal organs; it stimulates kundalini shakti <strong>and</strong> concentrates it in the third, the Solar<br />

Plexus Chakra, in an extra powerful way, making it available for more potent <strong>and</strong> immediate<br />

distribution throughout your entire subtle body.<br />

1. St<strong>and</strong> comfortably <strong>and</strong> exhale as you bend forward from your waist, placing your h<strong>and</strong>s on your<br />

knees.<br />

2. Expel the last bit of air from your lungs <strong>and</strong> without taking in new breath, return <strong>to</strong> an erect<br />

position.<br />

3. Place your h<strong>and</strong>s on your hips, with your fingers <strong>to</strong> the front, <strong>and</strong> press as hard as you can while<br />

sucking in your abdomen. This will raise your shoulders <strong>and</strong> chest.<br />

4. Holding in your abdomen, squeeze your perineum <strong>to</strong> emphasize the upward thrust.<br />

5. Hold this position. With your eyes closed, bring your internal focus <strong>to</strong> the third eye, the point<br />

between your eyebrows, so that all the energy from your lower chakras will be encouraged <strong>to</strong><br />

rise up <strong>to</strong> the higher energy centers with your conscious attention as the driver.<br />

6. Repeat three times. Lie down on your back in a fully relaxed position <strong>and</strong> rest for a few minutes<br />

afterwards.<br />

Tip: When you must take a breath during the sixth rite, breathe in through your nose <strong>and</strong> then exhale through your mouth as you drop<br />

your arms down <strong>to</strong> your sides <strong>to</strong> relax. Take in several normal breaths through your nose <strong>and</strong> mouth before beginning again.<br />

As you practice the Tibetan Rites, you will actually feel the silent pulse of perfect rhythm that<br />

connects us <strong>to</strong> all of life, energy, <strong>and</strong> nature. You will feel like a child again, spinning color<br />

wheels of energy in harmony with one another <strong>and</strong> with your breathing, awakening the<br />

circulating, flowing energy body within you. You will experience yourself as a vibrant<br />

microcosm of the universe, at one with the universe <strong>and</strong> forever young.
