Archer The Archer activates the first, second, and third chakras, opens the hips, stretches and strengthens the muscles of the legs, ankles, calves, feet, chest, shoulders, and back as it builds inner fortitude and courage to stand your ground and heed destiny’s call. It also strengthens the nerves to such a degree that our bodies can fight off anything, creating a powerfully “divine” energy shield, amplifying the radiance into a grand protective aura that guards against negative energy. 1. Stand tall, with your feet deeply rooted into the earth at the front of your mat in Mountain Pose: feet together, big toes touching in parallel alignment, legs together, arms at your sides, upper body stacked on top and aligned with your navel, which is drawn in toward your spine, and your tailbone long, drawing down and back. 2. Step back with your left foot, placing it at least three feet behind you and slightly turning the left toes outward to form a sixty-five-degree angle to your right foot, which is now pointing straight ahead. Keep your left heel active and stretching back. 3. With both legs strong and straight in their alignment, bend the front knee in line with the big toe, squaring your hips to face the front of the mat, and as you do raise the arms up in front of the chest with your hands facing one another, three inches apart and your fingers outstretched. 4. Gazing at your destiny, you are going to pretend that you are drawing your arrow back in your archer’s bow. Slowly and surely, relax the shoulders back and down. Come into a thumbs-up position with both hands (hands in fists, thumbs pointing straight up). Keep your right arm extended, feeling a strong and vibrant connection to the heart, with the chest opening wide. Then bend the left elbow parallel to the ground and bring the hand back in line with the left shoulder. You are pulling the string of your bow back and drawing your arrow back into “let fly” position, literally forming your left hand in such a way that you feel the arrow in it. You will likely feel a stretch in your chest and left armpit. 5. Lift your upper chest proud and tall as you brighten the thumbs-up position with your right hand, energizing the fingers, lifting your gaze slightly higher than the horizon line, deepening the front right knee bend, and straightening the left leg even more strongly, rooting it into the earth. 6. Focus on a point in front of you, and with your feet deeply rooted into the earth let your upper body soar and call to it as you begin the Breath of Fire at a moderate to vigorous pace. As you breathe, keep gazing at your beautiful destiny, why you came here, why you came to earth. Think of the gifts you were meant to share. Merge with those gifts. Merge with your destiny, with the will of the divine. 7. Start your Sat Nam mantra right away and continue breathing powerfully for three minutes. Once you finish, inhale deeply and retain the breath as you apply the Root Lock. Suspend and retain the breath and open the heart, and when you can’t hold your breath any longer, deepen your front knee bend and literally let your arrow fly—releasing the fingers of the front hand into bright, long, straight, extensions of your inner commitment and what you wish to manifest out in the world. Send your arrow to hit its mark! 8. Then, using your inner leg strength and abdominals, step your left foot forward to join your right foot in Mountain Pose. Let your arms hang down by your sides, and just breathe and feel. Close

your eyes and just absorb the benefits of the Archer and the Breath of Fire. Feel yourself deeply grounded to the very core of the earth and bask in your own radiance. It is palpable. Feel that love in your heart, feel it swimming and dancing around. 9. Now repeat on the opposite side, stepping the right foot back and moving through the entire sequence, performing the Breath of Fire for three minutes, then retaining the breath with the Root Lock, and letting your arrow fly when it’s time. When you finish, come into Mountain Pose once again, stand in your greatness, and feel your deepest desires manifesting as you stand in your power. Calling Destiny Home You will pull your destiny toward you in Calling Destiny Home as you root your feet firmly into the earth and open your heart to usher love into your body and your life. This exercise instills a powerful sense of self-confidence, manifesting your wishes with every reach and pull you perform; it balances the first, second, and third chakras as it tones and strengthens the arms, shoulders, and abdominals. 1. Standing tall with feet slightly wider than hip-width apart, bring your hands into natural fists with your thumbs clamping down on the index and middle fingers; rest your fists at the sides of your waist and lift your gaze just above the horizon line, so that you grow even taller and feel proud and capable even before you start. 2. Keep your left hand in a fist and, as you inhale, reach your right hand out in front of you with your palm facing down and fingers spread wide apart as if you’re casting a magic spell on the space in front of you. 3. Then right away, without so much as a pause, exhale and pull the right hand back into a fist at your side, and a nanosecond later send the left hand out in the same way to perform the same action as you inhale, Sat. 4. Exhale, Nam, and pull the left hand back in as you inhale again and send the right hand out, continuing in this way for up to three minutes, moving with real power and verve, like a true engine of self-love at a moderate pace increasing to a vigorous one. Get your hips and upper torso involved, letting them naturally follow and emphasize the movement of your arm as it extends out in front of you and you pull your destiny in, drawing into your being, into your life, exactly what you wish for, what you want to manifest. 5. As you cast your nets out with each reach of the hand, manifesting your magic, envision each thing, person, or situation you want to usher into your life and pull it toward you with absolute belief in yourself, faith, and utter conviction, making each reach and pull very deliberate, filled with love for yourself and gratitude for this chance to speak with the universe in this special way. 6. After you have completed three minutes, on a great big inhalation extend both arms out in front of you, this time with the palms facing up and the chest open, the eyes lifted to the sky, opening your heart and celebrating this powerful loving homage to yourself and your deepest desires. As you exhale, slowly draw both arms back, bringing your hands into Prayer Position in front of your heart.
