Felicia hosts many workshops and
panels in the United States and
abroad. She serves also as a pilot of the
beauty events established in cities
ranging from New York, Paris,Lagos
and other countries like the
Netherlands, England,Barbados and
Jamaica. Their workshops are
sponsored and Felicia’s presentations
are an invaluable resource to learn the
technique and knowledge of the
products directly from a trusted
source.
Felicia Leatherwood is the first stylist
for celebrities of the world and an
inspiring beauty in what concerns
natural frizzy hair. With over 26 years
of experience, she conducts workshops
of hair care for the public around the
world under the slogan «Loving your
hair with Natural Care ». This
workshop is a response to the
thousands of questions received from
desperate people about their hair
styles. Felicia’s solutions and works
have earned her the title of the natural
«Hair Whisperer » That's why she is
known to miraculously restore the
health, beauty and vitality to the hair
of her clientele. Her magazine cover
and broadcast editorial exposure
includes Vogue, Variety, Essence,
Ebony and more.
Know-how has made Felicia a
favourite public among the leading
experts and speakers of hair today,
whether online, on the popular show of
FOX «The Real » or in person.
Traveling and staying in touch with her
120,0000 and more followers of social
media,Felicia noticed a common
complaint in particular women with
kinky curly hair. The problem is that
most of the detangler tools on the
market painfully rip hair from the
scalp. Thus, the Felicia Leatherwood
Detangler Brush was designed.
FAB Me MAG 7

Currently, Felicia is based in Los Angeles,
where she still honors a client selection
list for hair. Her next projects include
expanding the distribution of the Felicia
her commitments around the world.
INTERVIEW
FELICIA LEATHERWOOD
FAB Me MAG
Felicia, where do you come from?
Felicia
I'm Felicia Leatherwood, a native of California, USA, famous Hair Artist and a famous
hairdresser of stars. I do hair of many artists such as Nicole Ari Parker, Ava Duvernay, Jill
Scott, Viola Davis and many others...
FAB Me MAG
What is your Inspiration ?
Felicia
At the age of nine, I had a passion for hair. Rather than use games, I spent most of my
childhood to comb the hair of the neighborhood kids. This natural passion at such a young
age pushed me to create my future career.
FAB Me MAG
You are a hair stylist, tell us about the cause of dandruff and how to deal with it?
Felicia
Dandruff usually stems from too sweet food. There are several effects, such as irritation
of the skin but also mainly the appearance of dandruff at the scalp level. We should drink
plenty of water to eliminate the excess sugar in the body. You know that people don't like to
drink water! I'm kidding!
FAB Me MAG
What is the cause of dry and broken hair?
Felicia
Dry and broken hair are a contribution of different things:
(1) – poor hair treatment and not enough hair conditioning .
(2) - wearing protective hairstyles like wigs can damage the hair. But there are a lot of
remedies and treatments to avoid this.
(3) -Growth Renew Protective is an effective treatment for natural hair.
We have had positive returns. You can also take vitamins that contribute to hair growth .
-Use the Black Jamaican Castor Oil as a treatment every 2 days. It is very important to treat
her hair on a regular basis.
-Avoid the tap water to wash your relaxed hair. Use mineral water instead if you live in
France.
INTERVIEW
FELICIA LEATHERWOOD
THE FOLLOWING...
FAB Me MAG
The Detangler Brush by Felicia LEATHERWOOD
what's special with this brush?
Felicia
The brush is special because it goes through the hair without breaking them,
opens, closes and moves with the hair. This brush was made from a special
concept, for women with frizzy hair. This material is sold in Paris, in United
States and around the world.
FAB Me MAG
You were one of the pilots of the NHA.
What was your feeling after the 2016 edition?
Felicia
Certainly, it was an interesting show. There has really been more and more
participants. We started the first edition with 250 people. The second with
600 and over time the number of participants increased. Today, thousands of
people flock to the show. At the NHA in Paris, we realized that black women
are interested in wearing their natural hair.
FAB Me MAG
An advice for the public?
Felicia
Black women should feel confident wearing their natural hair. This
strengthens them in their "self-esteem".We have developed the NHA (Natural
Hair Academy) and the "Loving your hair with Natural Care" workshop to
promote natural hair. Many black citizens of United States do not know their
origins. Therefore, it is best to use our natural hair to put forth our roots.
SUCCESS STORY
MEGHANE MONATUS
FAB Me MAG 17

SUCCESS STORY
THE MEGHANE MONATUS POWER
FASHION FOR HUMANITY
Meghane Monatus, a model small size and
fashion designer has always struggled to dress
during her youth. During her life as a teenager
she has never been in fashion. Be clothing; too
wide or too long, and she loved wearing original
clothing. You can tell she had a look of the70s. In
whole she was also very feminine. She culivated
already in her school a quite marked and
diferent style.
Before Graphic Designer & Web designer
and Secretary for Mr jean Paul Gautier. She
always aspired to do something in the field of
fashion to introduce Small Women. Worn by
her big wishes, she left her job as a graphic
designer with the decision that she would
manage to create the conditions to realize
her dream, even though she was aware that
she had nothing tangible to do so. She
knows nothing about fashion, sewing, or
even fabrics. His entourage is not in this
sector ...
The only important thing had been her faith in
her life, in her dream and in her potenial. Her
irst decision was not to become a Fashion
Creator, but to make the women and Small Size
Models exist. It is this ideal that leads her to
become a fashion designer later on.
FAB Me MAG 18

Suddenly, she had the urge to buy a
sewing machine and fabric to make
her first creations small size. And
finally be able to dress in a style that
she loves and made to measure! She
didn't sew, but she learned very
quickly! The most beautiful is that she
discovered a real passion! And a way
to realize her dream.
She created her first 10 sets in less
than 2 months and without
sponsorship. Many other creations
have followed.
In partnership with a fashion designer
Les Chaussettes Orphelines(French
words), she creates two outfits and
scrolls with the sentence of Gandhi: Be
the change we want to see in the
world. So in her heart as a Model small
size in Paris.
She had mode custom creations and
she aspired to be the 1st model small
size in order to pave the way for all
those who aspire to be.
The cause is planted. Two years later
(in 2010) her concept of Model small
size was done and set up. She would
emerge at the forum of Saint-Malo with
seven young women measuring
between 5'3 and 5'4 feet.
All of her creations were going to be
the key tool to introduce a new
category of model. Thus, Meghane
realized her dream.
FAB Me MAG 19

FAB Me MAG
Meghane your style and creations are
different? Tell us about your brand.
Meghane
I often describe my style as being a
romantic style, very feminine, a bit
sexy and in tune with the times. A
style that aims to enhance small
women and staging it in his own
life, to give it visibility and a selfesteem
increased. And I assure you,
it works!
I like the idea of making outfits that will
be able to be used on different occasions.
My clients who are looking for dresses
specially made for them tell me the
happiness to have custom outfits and
allow them to shine their personalities. I
dressed singers, dancers, friends as the
bride or woman who want a cocktail dress
to go with her shoes or any other project.
FAB Me MAG
You create accessories?
Meghane
I also make jewelry with
semiprecious stones, rose quartz,
rock crystal, onyx and the lapis
lazuli and Turquoise even to make
flower rings... As for sewing, an
impulse to create jewelry, pushed
me to buy precious semi stone
beads, wires, clips, everything for
the rings and necklaces bracelets. I
was doing just by desire, then I saw
that my jewelry to complete my
clothing designs, I find that
together they form a beautiful
harmony, Since I wear jewelry
every day.
FAB Me MAG
What are your criteria for choosing your
models?
Meghane
The application form. "Model small
Size".
FAB Me MAG 20

FAB Me MAG
Your objective in this day?
Méghane
My challenge is to be the 1st small
Women fashion designer in the world,
dress them and value them that they fall
within the criteria of beauty and have their
place on the podium. I want to buy my
company, promoting the global capital of
fashion that is Paris by service of the
human that promotes and values
differences, to bring down the dictates
which enclose still too many women in a
lack of self-esteem. Fashion should pay
attention to small women, curvy women
and tall women, or all physical!
FAB Me MAG
As a model small size what was your first
and most beautiful parade.
Méghane
My first show was in Paris in the Town
Hall of the 18th district in February 10,
2010 for Marcia de Carvalho (mark
orphan Socks)
My first show as a fashion designer was
held in Saint-Malo in May 2010 for the
Arts Forum.
My fashion show in Cannes is a great
experience! We had to scroll as part of an
exhibition of painting of an artist painter,
with other musicians and singers, french
and American.
"every woman and girl can recognize its value, to have a watchful eye on
herself and on others a few is their difference."
marched in Paris, New York and Ireland:
in the Eiffel Tower for the French
European Indian Fashion Week in the
restaurant, and...
FAB Me MAG
What are your news and new projects?
Although I usually work alone since the
beginning of this adventure, I want to start
a team in order to delegate some trades
related to communication, accounting,
marketing, so that I can concentrate on
the creations and orders and castings. I
also want medium-term to create the 1st
model small size agency.
Méghane
I am trying to create an outfit for a dancer
who goes dancing at the castle of
Maintenon in December for the Christmas
of Maintenon. And I honor my measures
and custom orders flowing. I am looking
for a fundraiser to develop my project.
Need me a workshop, Showroom
apartment in Paris to greet clients, do my
castings and some parades. Private sales
etc...
Tell us about your childhood and your
career.
Keri-Lise
I had a very happy childhood in a united
family. My seamstress mother worked at
home where she installed her workshop. I
spent most of my free time with her. I liked to
sit by her side and feel through her, all her
passion for sewing. I grew up in this beautiful
atmosphere of creation surrounded by
patterns, colored or dark fabrics, meters of
thread, needles, chalk of wooden sewing
rules, some almost made my child size. My
mother made me all my dresses and even
dressed my little dolls.
I kept a delicious perfume of tenderness and
warmth of this childhood memory.
More later nothing predestined me to reach
out to the world of fashion.
Icon ANGELA DAVIS
The voice for Social Justice and change.
Angela Davis has been one of the prophetic voices to come out of the sixties
and seventies for social change. She has been and remains a powerful voice in
the fight for the liberation of black people, feminism and social equality. In
1969, Davis started talking publicly, expressing her opposition to the war of
Viet Nam, racism, sexism and the prison industrial complex. It also expresses
her support for gay rights and other social justice movements. Davis was a
member of the Communist Party and the Black Panthers.
In 1969, she is returned to her teaching at UCLA (University of California at
Los Angeles) position and is prohibited to teach throughout California at the
request of the Governor Ronald Reagan, because of her involvement in the
Communist Party. Although that fired from her job, it is the University to do
its job. In support, one thousand five hundred people arise in her class while
only 150 are registered.
Davis is even listed on the FBI list of America's most wanted due to the fact
that his bodyguard, a young African-American named Jonathan Jackson took
control of a federal courtroom, removed a judge and three other people. In the
assault against him four people including a judge and the assailant killed.
Davis is accused of kidnapping and murder for having bought the bullets used
by Jackson. These projectiles purchased by Angela Davis were intended for his
personal protection who she even received many death threats. Following this
conviction, she fled California, but is caught and arrested by the FBI in New
York.
She is now seen by her supporters as a political prisoner. She is finally
acquitted of all the charges against her and released. Homage to her, John
Lennon and Yoko Ono wrote a song called Angela, in their album, Sometime
in New York City, published 1972. The Rolling Stones did the same with the
song, Sweet Black Angel in their album Exile on Main Street the same year.
After her release, Davis visited Cuba, where she was very well received.
FAB Me MAG 48

During her visit to Cuba, she continued to
work for social change after her
incarceration throughout the 1970s, and
in the decades that followed. She gave
lectures in schools, universities and
parks.
She has written several books, the most
well-known being: Angela Davis: an
autobiography; Women, race, and class;
Abolition democracy: Beyond the Empire,
Torture and Prisons; Blues legacies and
black feminism; Are prisons obsolete?
She participated in the campaign of the
Vice President of the United States on the
ticket of the
Communist Party, in 1980 and 1984,
with the Communist candidate Gus
Hall urging the left to vote for
Democrats, activists in practice.
Evolutionary “Les must be realists,”
said Davis. Although she is no longer a
member of the Communist Party, is
part of the Advisory Committee of the
committees of correspondence for
democracy and socialism.
“I agree more the things I can't change. “I change the things I can not
accept.“
In recent years, she spoke out against
the U.S.
Prison system, which she calls the
“prison-industrial complex” and a
“modern form of slavery.”
She helped to form the African
American Agenda 2000, an alliance of
Black feminists. Davis is featured in
the new film, the Black Power Mix
Tape.
Although retired from teaching, she
continues to be a force today for social
change, by being a strong supporter for
the abolition of the United States
prison system, which it calls a “form of
slavery”, and to Occupy Wall Street
movements.
Angela Y. Davis has been a person of
courage and coherent belief, who
spoke with force for social justice and
change.
ZULU
ZULU PEOPLE
The "Ama Zulu" Zulus were originally
a minor clan, founded in 1709 by Zulu
kaNtombhela, in what is now.
KwaZulu-Natal. This tribe is the most
famous in South Africa and their
traditions are still alive today, and
express themselves through music,
dance and crafts.
The Creation of the Kingdom by
CHAKA ZULU was the illegitimate
son of Senzangakona, then Chief of the
Zulus. His mother, Nandi, were exiled
by Senzangakona, and found refuge in
another tribe - the Mthethwa.
He set up a formidable army with the
more experienced trustworthy soldiers
strategies in the world. He enlisted
men by age group in regiments,
requires discipline and rigour in the
ranks, to serve a very advanced
military strategy. The army gathered in
a semicircle: in the Center, the soldiers
experienced. On the wings, the young
warriors who have to surprise their
opponents by their mobility and
surround them quickly; at the rear, the
old hands who complete work if
needed. Shaka thus conquered many
Territories, likened the new
populations, up to transform a
confederation of tribes into a unified
and homogeneous, Kingdom all this in
10 years! When Senzangakona died,
Dinswayo her mentor aida Chaka to
take the head of the Zulu tribe. The
Zulus speak the Zulu language or
isiZulu, a Bantu language. It is the
most spoken language in South Africa,
it is the official language of the
country.
More than half of the population
understand it, more than 9 million
people are native Zulu and more than
15 million speak it fluently. A part of
the South African end of the Zulu tribe
speaks their mother tongue as English,
Portuguese, the tsonga, sotho and
other languages in South Africa. Some
say that the Zulus have developed an
extraordinary vocal tradition because
lack of large trees, they could
manufacture of instruments. This
tradition has evolved, incorporating
religious songs for four voices made by
European settlers. Siyahamba fits
during the songs of cappella devotion.
His words mean: "we walk in the light
of God." Music and the Zulu dance
worldwide aired through covers of
traditional songs such as "the lion is
dead tonight" and the international
artist Johnny Clegg.
Traditional Zulu man clothing is
usually light: an apron in two parts
similar to a loincloth and covering the
private parts. The front piece is called
umutsha, and is usually made of
springbok or other animal hide twisted
into strips covering the genitals. The
rear part is called ibheshu, is made of a
single piece of springbok or cattle skin.
Its length is usually an indicator of the
age and social position: lesamabheshu
is the plural of ibheshu and the longest
are worn by older men.
Married men also wear a headband,
called the umqhele, which is also made
of springbok skin or leather leopard for
men of high social rank, as the leaders.
They also wear bracelets and chains at
the ankles called imishokobezi during
ceremonies and rituals: weddings and
dances.
Most of the Zulus profess Christianity.
Nevertheless, the Zulus retain their
pre-coloniales beliefs of the cult of the
ancestors in the form of a syncretism
with Christianity.
They believe in a Supreme God and
creator in the name of, "Unkulunkulu",
which interacts in the daily lives of
humans, although this belief turns out
to be the result of the efforts of the first
missionaries to adapt the Christian
God in Zulu culture. Culture, the most
ancient belief and most common
BEAUTY/TIPS
FELICIA LEATHERWOOD!!!
There are 4 different types of hair textures:
smooth, wavy, curly and Kinky. These textures are
then broken down by the thickness, the release and
the porosity of the hair. Wavy hair work best with
lighter products such as mosses that enhance curls
but don't depress them.
For curly hair, use a gel or a moisturizing cream "curl" definition,as for kinky
(nappy) they need to be more moistened. It is therefore advisable to use rich
creams and butter.
"You have to cut your hair every three to four months, that is to say at each
end of the seasons, starting with a half an inch to an inch, paying attention to
your hair and telling you that you need a regular trim.It is important because a
loop holds on to another loop, when you separate them and the hair says
NOO. It's that they break.
What is Felicia's favorite oils for natural hair?
1- Jamaican black castor oil: it coats the hair and scalp, it also stimulates
growth.
2- Organ Oil: it smooths the ends of your hair, seals in moisture and
protects
hair from (weather) elements
3- Coconut oil: it is a large light sealing material
4- Jojoba oil: it is one of the botanical oils richest in nutrients
Put oil on your hair / scalp every three days. It is important when you go to
see a hairdresser, to make sure you have some questions for the stylist. To
know what types of products he uses, how does he work with natural hair? It
is also advisable to take a few of your own products to show him, so he has an
idea of the kind of product you are using. Finally make sure the stylist takes
some time to talk with you about your hair. A good stylist should have 30
minutes of her time for your hair.
Currently a student in economics-
University of Champagne Ardenne of
profession in the field of Accounting and
Control Audit in order to become an
accountant.
Miss Guinea France election, which is the
biggest event of the Guinean Diaspora in
France, highlights culture, beauty and also
Guinean intelligence. The fact that she was
able to represent Guinean beauty in France
and abroad was one of her biggest dreams
and even became her first goal as soon as
she arrived in France to take part in this
competition in order to realize a
humanitarian project that is very important
to him, that of the fight against child
begging in Guinea.
Elected Miss Guinea-France 2017 on
October 16, 2016, Mariama DAFF became
the new ambassador of Guinean beauty in
France and tales "the voice of the
According to Mariama, to dream of a
better future, one still had to have a
reason to dream, conditions to dream
and above all a hope to fulfill these
dreams. This hope unfortunately,
many children do not have it anymore.
The Guinean public must not be
merely spectators in the face of this
phenomenon which holds the image of
Guinea but must rather act to restore
these children in their right; Right to
go to school, to be in good conditions,
to be protected, cared for and attended
so that they will feel loved and not give
up.
It is a struggle for these angels who
need love and affection, they are the
future of Guinea and it is her way of
contributing to the development of her
dear fatherland. This fight is difficult
but not impossible with the will and
contribution of everyone.
With the support of AJGF "the
Association of Young Guineans of
France" and the collaboration of the
Guinean authorities, it will very soon
start mobilizing resources to finance
the various activities it will have to
carry out in the coming months in
Guinea.
Thanks to this crown she has the
opportunity to witness beautiful
events. It also has numerous media
invitations, and meetings with
personalities and especially there for
the realization of this humanitarian
project.
In order to perpetuate all this, she
intends to create an association at the
end of her mandate to consolidate the
achievements and continue the
struggle which is far from over because
there is a long way to go. She wants
people to remember her as an
ambassador who has managed to bring
smiles back to these little angels in the
ALOE VERA TIME
loe Vera, also known as the "plant of
miracles," is a succulent plant species that
grows in the dry and warm regions of the
world.
The sap from aloe may be suitable for the
treatment of wounds and burns, dryness
of the skin and even herpes.
The leaves of this plant contain a lot of gel
that you can collect. When you need it,
cut a leaf out of your plant and then
squeeze it or empty the pure aloe gel.
• If you want to collect a large amount,
you must cut the leaf lengthwise to scrape
off the gel.
• Try to extract only the amount you need
for use. If you still have some gel, you can
store it in an airtight container that you
put in your refrigerator for a week
Apply aloe after exposure to sunlight.
You can apply the fresh aloe gel on your
sunburn to refresh it and heal the burn.
Apply the gel on the part of your skin that
has been exposed to the sun and renew
this process as needed after a few hours to
keep your skin moist.
• Try to keep the aloe gel in a cool place
for an hour or two before applying it to
the part of your skin that has sunburned.
Refrigerated gel will have a more
refreshing effect.
Practical tips for hair:
On dry hair, like balm styling, to
regularize the scalp, apply the gel
directly, in small amounts and gently
massage with the tips of your fingers.
However, do not apply to bleeding,
swollen or severely injured parts.
You can also spread the aloe gel on
your scalp to prevent the formation of
dandruff.
Aloe gel has proved useful in antidandruff
treatment. All you'll have to
do is apply a small amount of this gel
on your own scalp and rub your hands
a small amount of aloe gel (about the
same amount of a shampoo) That you
will use to wash your hair.
Then use the tips of your fingers to
massage the gel on your roots and let
act for a few moments.
Repeat this process each time you
wash your hair.
Apply aloe to dry skin. Aloe can also be
used as a moisturizer or as a treatment
for dry skin. To do this, you must
replace your normal lotion with an
aloe gel. Use the gel as a body lotion.
Apply it all over your body and
massage it until it is absorbed.
Apply aloe on labial herpes pimples.
Aloe has proven to be effective as a
treatment for cold sores, also known as
a "cold sore". When you feel a button
appear on your lips, take a small
amount of gel at the tip of your finger
and pass it over the button. Repeat the
application process if necessary to
cover the entire button with aloe vera
gel.
As is the case with any natural
supplement, you should consult your
doctor before adding this herb to your
diet. It is also advisable to inquire with
your doctor about the side effects that
could occur when taking any
supplement and aloe.
