Felicia, where do you come from? 

Felicia 

I'm Felicia Leatherwood, a native of California, USA, famous Hair Artist and a famous 

hairdresser of stars. I do hair of many artists such as Nicole Ari Parker, Ava Duvernay, Jill 

Scott, Viola Davis and many others... 


What is your Inspiration ? 

Felicia 

At the age of nine, I had a passion for hair. Rather than use games, I spent most of my 

childhood to comb the hair of the neighborhood kids. This natural passion at such a young 

age pushed me to create my future career. 


You are a hair stylist, tell us about the cause of dandruff and how to deal with it? 

Felicia 

Dandruff usually stems from too sweet food. There are several effects, such as irritation 

of the skin but also mainly the appearance of dandruff at the scalp level. We should drink 

plenty of water to eliminate the excess sugar in the body. You know that people don't like to 

drink water! I'm kidding! 


What is the cause of dry and broken hair? 

Felicia 

Dry and broken hair are a contribution of different things: 

(1) – poor hair treatment and not enough hair conditioning . 

(2) - wearing protective hairstyles like wigs can damage the hair. But there are a lot of 

remedies and treatments to avoid this. 

(3) -Growth Renew Protective is an effective treatment for natural hair. 

We have had positive returns. You can also take vitamins that contribute to hair growth . 

-Use the Black Jamaican Castor Oil as a treatment every 2 days. It is very important to treat 

her hair on a regular basis. 

-Avoid the tap water to wash your relaxed hair. Use mineral water instead if you live in 

France.

what's special with this brush? 

Felicia 

The brush is special because it goes through the hair without breaking them, 

opens, closes and moves with the hair. This brush was made from a special 

concept, for women with frizzy hair. This material is sold in Paris, in United 

States and around the world. 


You were one of the pilots of the NHA. 

What was your feeling after the 2016 edition? 

Felicia 

Certainly, it was an interesting show. There has really been more and more 

participants. We started the first edition with 250 people. The second with 

600 and over time the number of participants increased. Today, thousands of 

people flock to the show. At the NHA in Paris, we realized that black women 

are interested in wearing their natural hair. 


An advice for the public? 

Felicia 

Black women should feel confident wearing their natural hair.This 

strengthens them in their "self-esteem".We have developed the NHA (Natural 

Hair Academy) and the "Loving your hair with Natural Care" workshop to 

promote natural hair. Many black citizens of United States do not know their 

origins. Therefore, it is best to use our natural hair to put forth our roots.

THE MEGHANE MONATUS POWER 

FASHION FOR HUMANITY 

Meghane Monatus, a model small size and 

fashion designer has always struggled to dress 

during her youth. During her life as a teenager 

she has never been in fashion. Be clothing; too 

wide or too long, and she loved wearing original 

clothing. You can tell she had a look of the70s. In 

whole she was also very feminine. She culivated 

already in her school a quite marked and 

diferent style. 

Before Graphic Designer & Web designer 

and Secretary for Mr jean Paul Gautier. She 

always aspired to do something in the field of 

fashion to introduce Small Women. Worn by 

her big wishes, she left her job as a graphic 

designer with the decision that she would 

manage to create the conditions to realize 

her dream, even though she was aware that 

she had nothing tangible to do so. She 

knows nothing about fashion, sewing, or 

even fabrics. His entourage is not in this 

sector ... 

The only important thing had been her faith in 

her life, in her dream and in her potenial. Her 

irst decision was not to become a Fashion 

Creator, but to make the women and Small Size 

Models exist. It is this ideal that leads her to 

become a fashion designer later on. 


Suddenly, she had the urge to buy a 

sewing machine and fabric to make 

her first creations small size. And 

finally be able to dress in a style that 

she loves and made to measure! She 

didn't sew, but she learned very 

quickly! The most beautiful is that she 

discovered a real passion! And a way 

to realize her dream. 

She created her first 10 sets in less 

than 2 months and without 

sponsorship. Many other creations 

have followed. 

In partnership with a fashion designer 

Les Chaussettes Orphelines(French 

words), she creates two outfits and 

scrolls with the sentence of Gandhi: Be 

the change we want to see in the 

world. So in her heart as a Model small 

size in Paris. 

She had mode custom creations and 

she aspired to be the 1st model small 

size in order to pave the way for all 

those who aspire to be. 

The cause is planted. Two years later 

(in 2010) her concept of Model small 

size was done and set up. She would 

emerge at the forum of Saint-Malo with 

seven young women measuring 

between 5'3 and 5'4 feet. 

All of her creations were going to be 

the key tool to introduce a new 

category of model. Thus, Meghane 

realized her dream. 



Meghane your style and creations are 

different? Tell us about your brand. 

Meghane 

I often describe my style as being a 

romantic style, very feminine, a bit 

sexy and in tune with the times. A 

style that aims to enhance small 

women and staging it in his own 

life, to give it visibility and a selfesteem 

increased. And I assure you, 

it works! 

I like the idea of making outfits that will 

be able to be used on different occasions. 

My clients who are looking for dresses 

specially made for them tell me the 

happiness to have custom outfits and 

allow them to shine their personalities. I 

dressed singers, dancers, friends as the 

bride or woman who want a cocktail dress 

to go with her shoes or any other project. 


You create accessories? 

Meghane 

I also make jewelry with 

semiprecious stones, rose quartz, 

rock crystal, onyx and the lapis 

lazuli and Turquoise even to make 

flower rings... As for sewing, an 

impulse to create jewelry, pushed 

me to buy precious semi stone 

beads, wires, clips, everything for 

the rings and necklaces bracelets. I 

was doing just by desire, then I saw 

that my jewelry to complete my 

clothing designs, I find that 

together they form a beautiful 

harmony, Since I wear jewelry 

every day. 


What are your criteria for choosing your 

models? 

Meghane 

The application form. "Model small 

Size". 



Your objective in this day? 

Méghane 

My challenge is to be the 1st small 

Women fashion designer in the world, 

dress them and value them that they fall 

within the criteria of beauty and have their 

place on the podium. I want to buy my 

company, promoting the global capital of 

fashion that is Paris by service of the 

human that promotes and values 

differences, to bring down the dictates 

which enclose still too many women in a 

lack of self-esteem. Fashion should pay 

attention to small women, curvy women 

and tall women, or all physical! 


As a model small size what was your first 

and most beautiful parade. 

Méghane 

My first show was in Paris in the Town 

Hall of the 18th district in February 10, 

2010 for Marcia de Carvalho (mark 

orphan Socks) 

My first show as a fashion designer was 

held in Saint-Malo in May 2010 for the 

Arts Forum. 

My fashion show in Cannes is a great 

experience! We had to scroll as part of an 

exhibition of painting of an artist painter, 

with other musicians and singers, french 

and American. 

"every woman and girl can recognize its value, to have a watchful eye on 

herself and on others a few is their difference." 

Teron Beal, the lyricist of Michael 

Jackson was part of our team. This year I 

marched in Paris, New York and Ireland: 

in the Eiffel Tower for the French 

European Indian Fashion Week in the 

Claude Francois Ketty SINA clodette 

restaurant, and... 


What are your news and new projects? 

Although I usually work alone since the 

beginning of this adventure, I want to start 

a team in order to delegate some trades 

related to communication, accounting, 

marketing, so that I can concentrate on 

the creations and orders and castings. I 

also want medium-term to create the 1st 

model small size agency. 

Méghane 

I am trying to create an outfit for a dancer 

who goes dancing at the castle of 

Maintenon in December for the Christmas 

of Maintenon. And I honor my measures 

and custom orders flowing. I am looking 

for a fundraiser to develop my project. 

Need me a workshop, Showroom 

apartment in Paris to greet clients, do my 

castings and some parades. Private sales 

etc... 



Tell us about your childhood and your 

career. 

Keri-Lise 

I had a very happy childhood in a united 

family. My seamstress mother worked at 

home where she installed her workshop. I 

spent most of my free time with her. I liked to 

sit by her side and feel through her, all her 

passion for sewing. I grew up in this beautiful 

atmosphere of creation surrounded by 

patterns, colored or dark fabrics, meters of 

thread, needles, chalk of wooden sewing 

rules, some almost made my child size. My 

mother made me all my dresses and even 

dressed my little dolls. 

I kept a delicious perfume of tenderness and 

warmth of this childhood memory. 

More later nothing predestined me to reach 

out to the world of fashion.

Keri-lise Anderson, model and business 

woman of Indian origin by her father. 

Chinese and Vietnamese by her mother. 

She was born in Saigon (Viet Nam). 

Beautiful, smiling, dynamic and very 

present in the media, she is often asked 

by many radio stations and press. Model, 

it goes to Manager of Communication and 

social networking in the Parisian Middle; 

Freelance and for FNC 'Fashion night 

sewing' Press Secretary, Keri-lise exposes 

us her fabulous life. Although I usually 

work alone since the beginning of this 

adventure, I want to start a team in order 

to delegate some trades related to

I was doing University studies in the field of 

communication. It is the encounter of the 

brother of a friend, photographer, who 

propelled me in this universe. I was at first 

her model as part of a photo exhibition and 

then quickly spotted and integrated in the 

NOTORIOUS Agency. 

It was a great experience. But artistic sight 

will come during my first fashion show: it was 

a revelation. I knew immediately that it is in 

this environment that I wanted to evolve.

The voice for Social Justice and change. 

Angela Davis has been one of the prophetic voices to come out of the sixties 

and seventies for social change. She has been and remains a powerful voice in 

the fight for the liberation of black people, feminism and social equality. In 

1969, Davis started talking publicly, expressing her opposition to the war of 

Viet Nam, racism, sexism and the prison industrial complex. It also expresses 

her support for gay rights and other social justice movements. Davis was a 

member of the Communist Party and the Black Panthers. 

In 1969, she is returned to her teaching at UCLA (University of California at 

Los Angeles) position and is prohibited to teach throughout California at the 

request of the Governor Ronald Reagan, because of her involvement in the 

Communist Party. Although that fired from her job, it is the University to do 

its job. In support, one thousand five hundred people arise in her class while 

only 150 are registered. 

Davis is even listed on the FBI list of America's most wanted due to the fact 

that his bodyguard, a young African-American named Jonathan Jackson took 

control of a federal courtroom, removed a judge and three other people. In the 

assault against him four people including a judge and the assailant killed. 

Davis is accused of kidnapping and murder for having bought the bullets used 

by Jackson. These projectiles purchased by Angela Davis were intended for his 

personal protection who she even received many death threats. Following this 

conviction, she fled California, but is caught and arrested by the FBI in New 

York. 

She is now seen by her supporters as a political prisoner. She is finally 

acquitted of all the charges against her and released. Homage to her, John 

Lennon and Yoko Ono wrote a song called Angela, in their album, Sometime 

in New York City, published 1972. The Rolling Stones did the same with the 

song, Sweet Black Angel in their album Exile on Main Street the same year. 

After her release, Davis visited Cuba, where she was very well received. 


During her visit to Cuba, she continued to 

work for social change after her 

incarceration throughout the 1970s, and 

in the decades that followed. She gave 

lectures in schools, universities and 

parks. 

She has written several books, the most 

well-known being: Angela Davis: an 

autobiography; Women, race, and class; 

Abolition democracy: Beyond the Empire, 

Torture and Prisons; Blues legacies and 

black feminism; Are prisons obsolete? 

She participated in the campaign of the 

Vice President of the United States on the 

ticket of the 

Communist Party, in 1980 and 1984, 

with the Communist candidate Gus 

Hall urging the left to vote for 

Democrats, activists in practice. 

Evolutionary “Les must be realists,” 

said Davis. Although she is no longer a 

member of the Communist Party, is 

part of the Advisory Committee of the 

committees of correspondence for 

democracy and socialism. 

“I agree more the things I can't change. “I change the things I can not 

accept.“ 

In recent years, she spoke out against 

the U.S. 

Prison system, which she calls the 

“prison-industrial complex” and a 

“modern form of slavery.” 

She helped to form the African

Tape. 

Although retired from teaching, she 

continues to be a force today for social 

change, by being a strong supporter for 

the abolition of the United States 

prison system, which it calls a “form of 

slavery”, and to Occupy Wall Street 

movements. 

Angela Y. Davis has been a person of 

courage and coherent belief, who 

spoke with force for social justice and 

change.

ZULU PEOPLE 

The "Ama Zulu" Zulus were originally 

a minor clan, founded in 1709 by Zulu

famous in South Africa and their 

traditions are still alive today, and 

express themselves through music, 

dance and crafts.

Traditional Zulu man clothing is

It is an association created by Ibrahim 

BANGOURA who is the President, and two other 

people: Fabienne CROZ, Vice-President and 

Christian CAMARA. It is a non profit association 

born in Toulouse. 

The Association Samato Ibradanse is intended to promote the African culture. 

It offers courses of African dances of the West as well as courses of Afro- 

Remix on Toulouse and its surroundings. It also organizes courses of body 

expression during the holidays this Association's objective to help displaced 

children of the war, as well as the victims of war and children orphaned by 

Sierra Leone, Guinea and Gambia. It offers physical and sports activities, 

fitness and well-being for all. 

Why "Ibradanse"? 

"Ibradanse" an African-inspired dance combine humor, energy and 

friendliness. " The course is made in a spirit of joy, good mood, the aim being 

to romp to the music rhythms or African percussion. The course begins with 

the body preparation, learning the dance steps, the pace as well as the 'calls '. 

It was followed by a mini choreographic sequence that ends by relaxation. Its 

goal is to offer a space where you can mix all styles of dances dancers. It is

The AFRICAN CRITERIUM is a 

Glamor event created by Willy Mix & Dj 

François, 2 professional DJs in Brussels. 

It is an event that hosts great event 

organizers, Dj's-stars, renowned African 

artists and distinguished guests. It is 

mainly to honor artists and promoters of 

the African culture of the diaspora, while

event, the Benelux LPDJs held on 

Saturday, November 8, 2014 the 1st 

edition of the African CRITERIUM the 

theme of the Decade of mix and Dj 

Francois Willy, with nearly 1,500 guests. 

Event of glamour gathering all Africans in the 

diaspora. 

To mark the launch of the activities of this 

event, the Benelux LPDJs held on 

Saturday, November 8, 2014 the 1st 

edition of the Critérium African under the 

Decade of mix and Dj Francois Willy 

theme, with nearly 1,500 guests. This 

experience, of the LPDJ Benelux has done 

it again through Saturday, November 14, 

2015 a 2nd edition of the Critérium 

African who welcomed more than 2000 

people. The third edition took place on 12 

November 2016 with nearly 3000 people 

and the 4th edition is planned November 

11, 2017.

Guinean origin of Dinguiraye toucouleur 

in Upper Guinea, the resplendent Mariama 

aged 22 years has completed her secondary 

education at the Institute of St. Mary of 

Dixinn in Conakry. After obtaining her 

baccalaureate in Experimental Sciences in 

2011, she went to graduate school in 

Management and Finance in Morocco 

where she won the crown of the beauty 

contest Miss Guinea Morocco 2015. 

Currently a student in economics- 

University of Champagne Ardenne of 

Reims, Mariama wishes to practice her 

profession in the field of Accounting and 

Control Audit in order to become an 

accountant. 

Miss Guinea France election, which is the 

biggest event of the Guinean Diaspora in 

France, highlights culture, beauty and also 

Guinean intelligence. The fact that she was 

able to represent Guinean beauty in France 

and abroad was one of her biggest dreams 

and even became her first goal as soon as 

she arrived in France to take part in this 

competition in order to realize a 

humanitarian project that is very important 

to him, that of the fight against child 

begging in Guinea. 

Elected Miss Guinea-France 2017 on 

October 16, 2016, Mariama DAFF became 

the new ambassador of Guinean beauty in

voiceless."

need love and affection, they are the 

future of Guinea and it is her way of 

contributing to the development of her

With the support of AJGF "the 

Association of Young Guineans of 

France" and the collaboration of the

ALOE VERA TIME 

loe Vera, also known as the "plant of 

miracles," is a succulent plant species that 

grows in the dry and warm regions of the 

world. 

The sap from aloe may be suitable for the 

treatment of wounds and burns, dryness 

of the skin and even herpes. 

The leaves of this plant contain a lot of gel 

that you can collect. When you need it, 

cut a leaf out of your plant and then 

squeeze it or empty the pure aloe gel. 

• If you want to collect a large amount, 

you must cut the leaf lengthwise to scrape 

off the gel. 

• Try to extract only the amount you need 

for use. If you still have some gel, you can 

store it in an airtight container that you 

put in your refrigerator for a week 

Apply aloe after exposure to sunlight.
