QUR’AN COACH TRAINING PROGRAMME (QCTP)
Role description and expectations
INTRODUCTION
You will be part of training programme which has two main aims:
1. Offer a bespoke training programme which helps coaches to advance their own Qur’an studies
• As a result of our research we have found that many advanced students of the Qur’an reach a stumbling
block as they progress in their studies. We would like to remedy this and ensure that sisters are given the
necessary opportunities to continue deepening their relationship with, and study of, the Qur’an. This is whilst
giving these sisters the necessary access to people of knowledge that can support them based on their
particular needs.
2. Develop effective Qur’an Coaches that can coach, support and teach sisters to rekindle their relationship with
the Qur’an
• We have found the coaching method beneficial in helping sisters realise their full potential in relation to
the Qur’an. Having a role model that motivates, admonishes and monitors your progress has been proven
to help particular sisters achieve results that they may not have been able to had they been left to their
own devices.
OVERVIEW OF THE PROGRAMME- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*Year Long Commitment*
Attendance at the launch meeting, trainings dates* and regular attendance at QH Meet Ups [the most important of
which is the QH Retreat in July 17]
Regular contact with your coachees as per the coaching agreement
Contributing to and evaluating the curriculum for your coachees
Reporting on your coachee’s progress as per QH deadlines
*Training dates will be communicated with all coaches that are accepted onto the programme. They will be spreadout
throughout the year, and be offered both face to face and online. They will be offered by the QH team and by our
training partners.
**Coachees are sisters that are recipients of the coaching.

WHO IS IT FOR?
This programme is suitable for an advanced student of the Qur’an:
Who is passionate about the Qur'an, and committed to taking practical steps to help transform herself, and others,
through her connection to it
Who studies the Qur’an consistently, recites it with excellent tajweed, has memorised a significant amount of it and
is looking to take the next step in her own Qur'an studies
Who would like to develop her ability to empower, nurture and develop others using coaching methods and
enable sisters to practically implement the Qur’an in their lives.
Who would like to develop her ability to teach other sisters how to recite and memorise the Qur'an
Who is willing to co-create, use her own initiative and be instrumental in developing the project
Who can take on this noble commitment, consistently work towards it and is organised
WHAT WILL I DO AS A QUR’AN COACH?
You will meet with a pair of sisters on a weekly – fortnightly basis to carry out a preplanned coaching session. These
meetings will be conducted face-to-face and/or virtually.
The coaching session involves giving reminders, helping sisters to self-evaluate their progress to date and listening to and
correcting sisters’ recitation/hifdh.

DEADLINES
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and the deadline for all applications is midnight Friday 19 th May 2017.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to have an informal telephone interview where they will be asked to expand on their
application responses and have the opportunity to find out more information regarding the organisation and the
programme.
Please note that applications are reviewed on a case by case basis and the outcome will be based on your application,
interview and satisfactory references.
