This The Good Wife spin-off takes place a year after the events in the Emmy-winning original series ended and revolves<br />
around Christine Baranski’s Diana Lockhart (who can get over that slap she gave to protégé-turned-nemesis Julianna<br />
Margulies’ Alicia Florrick in the finale?). And a lot has happened since then. Donald Trump got elected into the White<br />
House and Lockhart had planned to retire… until a financial scandal wiped out her fortune, forcing her to start from<br />
scratch at a rival firm. There, Lockhart is joined by her goddaughter and newbie attorney (Game of Thrones’ Rose<br />
Leslie) and Florrick’s former partner Luca Quinn (Cush Jumbo). Produced for streaming platform CBS All Access, the<br />
10-part series (a second one is already greenlit) is edgier and sexier (sadly, those F-bombs are unlikely to survive<br />
cable-cast standards here) and features familiar faces from The Good Wife. Just don't expect Alicia Florrick to drop in<br />
for a visit, though. Says co-creator Michelle King: “This is a world in which Alicia Florrick exists, so she will be referred<br />
to, but she’s not a character in the show, so it’s not as though we’re following her story.” — DOUGLAS TSENG
