from NUS’ Department<br />

of Architecture. They<br />

embarked on a threeyear<br />

pictorial journey to<br />

document and learn about<br />

the spaces of 118 HDB<br />

homes. The result is a<br />

book portraying the colours,<br />

creativity and diversity<br />

Ratna Wulan returns to<br />

representational painting.<br />

Her four paintings each<br />

features a collection of<br />

unknown objects draped<br />

by fabric, and set in an<br />

otherwise empty room.<br />

These paintings serve<br />

as a metaphor for inner<br />

contemplation and are a<br />

tour de force in the depiction<br />

of light and shadow.<br />
