Yahoo for Ya Hui!
I am grateful for last week’s issue featuring Ya Hui. I
have been waiting for a cover story on this down-toearth
and hard-working artiste for as long as I can
remember. You can’t imagine how happy I was to
see this issue on the news stands last week. Her
sincerity and passion for her craft was apparent in
the interview. I believe she has a lot more to offer
and I look forward to seeing her star in upcoming
productions. She will always have my support.
Finally, Ya Hui made it to the cover of 8 DAYS! Though
she’s often dismissed as the bland girl-next-door, I
feel that she deserves so much more and that she
has a lot more to offer. It is evident that she has
improved tremendously since her debut. I hope more
opportunities will come her way soon.
10 years ago in the Singapore Idol contest in 2004
and didn't make it to the top 12. The judges weren't
impressed with his vocals. A decade later, Nat Ho
still has not produced a hit song. As outsiders, we
are sometimes tempted
to tell our friends to quit if
we see them struggling to
achieve their dreams without
success for so long. But at
other times, we feel bad
and therefore encourage
them to not give up. So,
where do we draw the line?
When would we know if Nat
should quit singing? Well,
Nat, there will be times
when it feels much harder than you imagined and you’ll
wonder if it’s time to give up on singing. If you can
honestly say the passion you felt when you first started
is gone for good, then it might be time to let go of this
dream. But if you still feel a spark, then dust yourself
off and keep on
singing.
Just keep on singing
I watched Nat Ho's music video ‘Snakes and Ladders’
on YouTube. I must give him credit for his persistence.
