STORY
YIP JIEYING & NEU WEE TEE
It’s opened by a Greek owner and
boasts a head chef from Greece.
The brunch-friendly spot within
Suntec City is a cosy, rustic spot
with warm wood accents and plants.
Dig into comforting Greek grub like
Stuffed Vine Leaves with Tzatziki
(yogurt dip) Spread ($15) and the
Koulouri ($22), a sesame bagel
(yes, not very Greek) topped with
organic poached eggs and Greek
yogurt. Desserts include a Baklava
($9 per piece) made in Greece and
air-flown here. After your meal, shop
at the retail corner for groceries like
olive oil and cheeseboards made
from Greek olive wood.
The charming French diner Cocotte
at Wanderlust Hotel is, alas, no
more (its former head chef, Anthony
Yeoh, has since taken up the role
of group exec chef for mod Middle
Eastern restaurant Artichoke and
chicken specialist Bird Bird). In
Cocotte’s place is another mod
French restaurant helmed by
French chef Jérémy Gillon, who had
previously consulted for restaurant
and bar ME@OUE and was executive
chef of the two Michelin-starred
L’Epicurien restaurant in the French
Alps. The dishes at this 50-seater
are surprisingly affordable — a
two-course set lunch starts from
$28 with dishes like a Duck Leg
Confit main course (the dinner-only
Discovery Menu starts from $68 per
pax and offers picks like Pan-Seared
Red Snapper). Meanwhile, the a
la carte menu features bites like
Steamed Mediterranean Sea Bream
($26) with black olive powder.
where a scoop of gelato is drenched
with a shot of hot espresso. And
this affogato specialist by the folks
behind local coffee distributor Fawr
& Co claims to be the first-ever
affogato-centric bar in Asia. It offers
five types of loaded affogatos
using four coffee blends and ice
creams (instead of the traditional
gelato). Try the signature Death
by Chocolate ($13.90), featuring
BANANA RAMBLE
STEAMED MEDITERRANEAN SEA BREAM
goodies like chocolate sorbet,
brownie chunks and chocolate
streusel, paired with a shot of
chocolatey Costa Rican coffee. Or
order the Banana Ramble ($12.90),
starring butter pecan ice cream,
banana cake, fresh banana slices
and pecans, paired with fruity
Nicaraguan coffee. The cafe also
serves savoury bites like a Roast
Beef Bagel Sandwich ($14.50).
