Zhenxi comes to understand
why Huilan had given so
much money to Xianyu.
She wanted him to keep
Shaoyuan’s parentage a
secret. Huilan asks Zhenxi
to wait five years; only
then will she acknowledge
Shaoyuan.
Zhenxi tells Yixian he
is not going back to the
US. He wants to verify with
Shaoyuan the real reason
behind their breakup. Yixian
starts to panic.
Yixian interrogates
Shaoyuan and threatens her.
If Shaoyuan has revealed
anything at all to Zhenxi,
Yixian will pull out from his
father’s company.
Xixian musters the
courage to attend Xianyu’s
funeral. He feels extremely
remorseful and cries bitterly.
Shaoyuan assures him that
Xianyu had forgiven him for
taking kickbacks.
Shen Minzi wants 10
million won from Shaoyuan.
The latter hears that CE
Group’s employees can get
a loan of 10 million won,
and considers going back to
being Zhenxi’s secretary.
Chairman Cui is
incensed to learn Xixian
and Duoyuan are going to
divorce. She thinks they do
not take marriage seriously.
Afraid Shaoyuan will
return to CE Group, Yixian
arranges for her to work in
another company, which
gives her three months’ pay
in advance.
Shaoyuan witnesses
Yixian instructing the
manager to fire her after
three months and realises
the job was arranged by the
latter. Incensed, she asserts
that she is not going to
tolerate Yixian any longer.
Shaoyuan asks Huilan to
reinstate her in her former
job. Yixian objects. Huilan
claims they can slowly clear
their misunderstanding once
they are working together
again.
Zhenxi congratulates
Shaoyuan for returning
to work. As an official
employee, she is now
eligible to participate in the
competition.
Mingxi goes on a blind
date in a fit of anger. Jianyu
tells her date that she is
afraid to be alone, and
instructs him not to let her
suffer hardship. Touched,
Mingxi runs after him.
Huilan tries to derail
Yixian and Zhenxi’s
mother’s manoeuvrings to
hasten Yixian and Zhenxi’s
marriage. She arranges for
Shaoyuan and Zhenxi to
meet a client at a farm.
Zhenxi’s mother calls
on Chairman Cui to
discuss Yixian and Zhenxi’s
marriage. Chairman Cui
claims she will not object if
Zhenxi agrees.
Yixian is nervous when
Zhenxi is late returning
from the farm. She calls
Shaoyuan and demands the
latter return immediately.
Zhenxi’s mother also scolds
her on the phone. Zhenxi
snatches the phone and
hears his mother’s ranting.
Infuriated, he retorts that he
is not returning home that
night.
Zhenxi questions
Shaoyuan if she has been

farm the whole night. The old
grandpa thanks them and
gives them a box of beef.
However, he is unwilling to
sign the contract.
Zhenxi encourages
Shaoyuan to create a new
dish using the beef and
enter the competition.
Qiuci discovers Mingxi
in Jianyu’s room. She feels
disgraced. Jianyu insists
they did nothing and will get
married soon.
Zhenxi is determined to
find out why Shaoyuan broke
up with him. Afraid Zhenxi’s
mother will reveal the truth
in a slip of the tongue, Yixian
stops her from pressuring
him, and targets Shaoyuan
instead.
At a cafe, Huilan sees
Zhenxi’s mother giving
Shaoyuan an earful. She
tries to diffuse the tension.
Not grateful, Shaoyuan views
Huilan with resentment.
Shaoyuan finds out by
chance that her birth mother
is Huilan. She learns from
Shen Minzi that Huilan had
bribed her to acknowledge
her. Shaoyuan cannot believe
Huilan let another person
acknowledge her for her own
selfish reasons.
Yixian berates Huilan
for ruining her relationship
with Zhenxi. Huilan claims
she is willing to forsake her
biological daughter for the
position of chairman.
