CH 8 CH CH 5
Knowing he is the
mastermind behind the
mess, Liyun is fearful.
Zhengnan is suspicious
of David. She knows he
was hired by Xiaowen as
a consultant for some
time and it was he who
recommended the tainted
medicine to the hospital.
He defends himself and
tells her that his love for
her has never changed.
Hongshan worries
when he learns Hansheng
has been detained. He
suspects Xiaowen and
David are in cahoots.
David causes Lawyer Wu
to get into a traffic conflict,
so the latter cannot defend
Hansheng.
SUN JUNE 4

Hansheng assures
Zhengnan he can defend
himself during the hearing.
He tells the court he had
no idea he is the registered
owner of the hospital and
that the entire malpractice
incident has nothing to do
with him. As there is no
lawyer to defend him and
he wants to press charges
against Xiaowen for forging
documents to set him up,
the case is adjourned.
Yongzhen rushes to
the court and produces
evidence to show the
hospital registration
was amended after the
malpractice suit was filed.
She explains the complex
relationship between
Hansheng and Xiaowen, as
well as David’s involvement.
The patient is
pronounced dead. The court
decides to keep Hansheng
in remand, pending further
investigations.
David is jubilant that
a renowned lawyer like
Yongzhen could not get
Hansheng released. She
promises to do her best to
help Hansheng.
Shuibo and Hongshan
confront David and Xiaowen.
Tiancheng and Yuping
are overjoyed when
Mingquan comes round.
Mingquan is about
to be discharged. Huixin
visits him at his request.
Thanking her, Tiancheng
makes it clear Mingquan is
the only father he will ever
acknowledge.
The time comes for
Wan Fang’s contract with
Shun Li Group to be signed.
Jiang Minmin, GM of Shun
Li Group, wants Xiaozu to
sign instead of Tiancheng.
Xiaozu has already
predicted Tiancheng’s move,
and Jiabao turns down
Minmin’s request.
Minmin is unhappy
when rejected by Xiaozu
(Jiabao). She vents her
frustrations on her sister-inlaw,
Yongzhen, and nephew,
Tongtong.
Tiancheng wants to sell
the entire new project to
Manager Qin. As the price
is high, Manager Qin has
to ask for his superior’s
permission.
Tiancheng transfers
Maggie’s apartment back to
Huixin and urges her to take
good care of herself.
Xiaozu wants Manager
Qin to help him deal with
Tiancheng.
Ailin is disappointed
Jiabao does not seem
enthusiastic about their
wedding.
Jiabao and Xiaozu know
Tiancheng has his eyes
fixed on the profit he stands
to gain from the project with
Shun Li Group. He will leave
Wan Fang Group in the lurch
after taking all the money.
Jiabao worries many people
will be implicated if Xiaozu
deals with Tiancheng.
Xiaozu sees Jiabao
looking downcast and
realises the latter is
depressed over the
upcoming engagement
ceremony. He hopes to let
Jiabao return to his old life.
Huixin urges Jiabao not to
let Ailin down if he really
wants to marry her.
Jiabao asks to meet
Xiaofei and Xiaowen.
Xiaowen is peeved Shuibo
seems to assume his own
firm can be compared to
Wan Fang Group. Jiabao
deliberately loses his
temper and tells the two
sisters he will not return to
the Fangs’ house again. His
motive is to make Xiaofei
give up on him.
Ailin dresses up for the
engagement party with a
heavy heart. Just as the
ceremony is about to begin,
Jiabao learns Xiaofei has
been sent to the hospital
after an accident. He
rushes off immediately.

to prove the innocence of
her husband, framed for
embezzlement while in a
coma after an accident.

Xianyu is infuriated his
mother accepted money
from Huilan a second time.
He demands to know if
she has been harassing
Shaoyuan for money the
last five years.
Refusing to go home,
Xianyu drinks heavily.
Shaoyuan talks to him
throughout the night. He
is unable to give up their
relationship.
Stress takes its toll on
Duoyuan, who is already in
poor health. Her foetus is
found to be unstable, and
she has to stay in bed. She
is so tortured that Xixian
suggests to Chairman
Cui that they move out
temporarily. Yixian claims
Duoyuan is merely looking
for an excuse to divide the
family.
Shaoyuan accedes to
Yixian’s demand that she
leave Zhenxi, so that his
father’s company can be
revived.
Shaoyuan breaks up
with Zhenxi. She claims
she cannot bear to see
Xianyu suffer while she
and Zhenxi are happy
together.
Zhenshu interrogates
Shaoyuan, who reveals
the truth. Zhenshu cannot
believe a pretty woman like
Yixian is capable of being
so detestable.
Yixian celebrates
Shaoyuan and Zhenxi’s
breakup.
Xianyu is outraged
when Qiuci refuses to
return the money to Huilan.
He can no longer face
Shaoyuan.
Zhenshu chides Yixian
for using bribery to break
Shaoyuan and Zhenxi up.
She warns about retribution
and says money can’t buy
love.
Yixian insists Shaoyuan
should never tell Zhenshu
the truth, and threatens
adverse effects on Zhenxi’s
father’s company.
Huilan worries that
Shaoyuan will go back
to Xianyu. She does not
want her to be with
Zhenxi either. Thus, she
arranges for Shen Minzi to
play-act and persuade
Shaoyuan to go overseas to
study.
Meanwhile, Zhenshu
doesn’t want Shaoyuan to
lose Zhenxi. She calls him
and tells him not to doubt
Shaoyuan and to never let
go of her.
Shaoyuan tells Zhenxi
that Xianyu is the one she
loves. If Zhenxi had never
appeared, she would be the
