Republic, Bastila has an
atypical force power
called battle meditation
that could buff her
friends or debuff her
enemies. It’d be
interesting seeing that in
effect in Battlefront’s
large-scale fights.
SHaaK ti
Appearing during The
Clone Wars, Shaak Ti is
a Jedi Grandmaster who
can control fauna and
direct them with her will,
as well as just being able
to kick lots of ass.
Imagine her being let
loose on a forest planet
like Endor. It would be
Ewok carnage.

the last Jedi. that means Darth maul, luke
Skywalker, Kylo Ren and even wee lil fan
favorite Yoda will all be playable.
and this time, you won’t just be gobbling
pick-ups to play these legendary characters.
“the point is to move away from this race for a
spinning blue token,” explains matt Webster,
general manager at criterion games. “We
love it, the excitement of becoming a hero
is a great moment, and such a differentiator
for battlefront. When they come in, they are
powerful moments. and it’s a power-trip
fantasy. We love that. but ten people racing
for a blue token to get that—there’s a better
way for us to do that.” exactly what that
‘better way’ will be remains to be seen, but
the developers hint at a resource mechanic
that will reward effective teamwork.
You won’t be forced to schlep it around
these vast maps on foot, however. a variety of
vehicles, big and small, will enable you to zip
around the battlefield, while the introduction
of fully featured space battles enables
players to take the fight to stars on selected
stages. “Space battles, it’s such a thing for
Star Wars,” Webster enthuses. “in my head,
when we’re talking about Return of the Jedi,
it’s these moments of epic capital ships and
starfighters battling it out… that is going to be
a significant part of this game for multiplayer.”
You could justifiably describe battlefront ii
as an attempt to address every criticism that
Dice’s original had to contend with. the lack
of single-player content has been remedied.
the slightly-too-streamlined multiplayer has
been tweaked. and the absence of spacebased
shenanigans has been solved. Sequels
made Star Wars what it is, and battlefront ii
might just do the same for ea’s shooter when
it launches on november 17th. n

Republic, Revan
utilises both light and
dark powers. With the
rumors that The Last
Jedi film will introduce
audiences to a ‘grey’
Jedi, Revan’s moveset
would play into that
theme nicely.
KYle Katarn
A fan favorite who first
appeared in Jedi Knight
series, Kyle might not be
canon anymore but we
still want to see him.
Thanks to his Imperial
training he also knows
how to use a Destroyer’s
worth of weapons.
