Standard Number 2012 Hilton Garden Inn Summary of Changes Below is a list of items you will not want to miss! Standard Type Location Effective August 1, 2012, all new builds must comply with all Operations (Sections 100-1700) and Design & Construction standards (Section 2500). Beginning October 1, 2012, all existing hotels must comply with the following Operation standards changes. Non-compliance of the following items will result in point deductions during quality assurance evaluations unless an alternative compliance date is indicated. All properties that choose to voluntarily renovate, or do so as required by a PIP must comply with the Design & Construction standards upon renovation. A minimum of 20 standard channels must be offered in each guestroom, including: * All popular local standard broadcast channels * News channels (minimum of two), e.g., CNN International, BBC World News, or Bloomberg TV * Sports channel * A minimum of 5 international channels where commercially available. Nationality/language depending on the hotel’s largest nationality contributin to occupancy. * A minimum of one channel must be in English * Consult the HDTV site: www.HiltonWorldwideHDTV.com for recommended channels * High-definition free-to-guest (HD FTG) channels are based on market availability. Where appropriate, hotels should supplement this lineup with appropriate language channels. Any type of material, activity or entertainment which is not in conformity with the high standards associated with the Brand name must not be displayed on the premises. No adult content movies may be shown or televised on public space televisions. The words “Erotic” or "Adult" or similar may not be highlighted on any PayTV movie material in either rooms or common areas. Provide the following minimum number of registration workstations: Two stations: 0-150 keys Three stations: 151-250 keys Four stations: 251-350 keys Five stations: 351-400 keys Partitions and screens must be plastic laminate, solid polymer (high density polyethylene) or better. Metal partitions are not allowed. Lights must be on keyed switches or motion sensors. Entry light must remain on at all times in multi-stall restrooms. Where kitchens are located over other habitable spaces, provide a waterproof membrane and floating slab floor construction. Provide a telephone outlet for a wall mounted house telephone in the kitchen area. Provide a telephone outlet for a minimum two-line telephone with calling number display in-room service. Provide four telephone outlets and data ports at all cash register/point of sale terminals requiring credit card verification. Refer to 2516.03.E for kitchen hood and duct protection requirements.
