Below is a list <strong>of</strong> items you will not want to miss!<br />

Effective August 1, <strong>2012</strong>, all new builds must comply with all Operations (Sections 100-1700) and Design & Construction<br />

standards (Section 2500). Beginning October 1, <strong>2012</strong>, all existing hotels must comply with the following Operation standards<br />

changes. Non-compliance <strong>of</strong> the following items will result in point deductions during quality assurance evaluations unless an<br />

alternative compliance date is indicated. All properties that choose to voluntarily renovate, or do so as required by a PIP must<br />

comply with the Design & Construction standards upon renovation. (updated 8/1/12)<br />

902.07 (TABLE) Power Unit<br />

Placement: Desk and/or Nightstand based on current<br />

power supply<br />

• A minimum <strong>of</strong> 2 outlets at both the nightstand and desk<br />

must be available above the surface and may include wall<br />

outlets or outlets in the lamp package.<br />

• When guest accessible outlets above the surface are not<br />

available, brand approved power unit(s) may be<br />

permanently installed.<br />

• Power outlets must be for guest use only and must not<br />

be used for hotel technology appliances.<br />

• Additional power units are permitted in suites. More than<br />

one power unit must not be installed on a single surface.<br />

Wireless High-speed Internet access must be installed<br />

and functional in all guestrooms/suites at the time <strong>of</strong><br />

opening. Hotels may <strong>of</strong>fer wired access in addition to<br />

wireless. HSIA must be <strong>of</strong>fered as a complimentary<br />

service. Existing hotels with wired solutions must install<br />

wireless access by April 30, 2014.<br />

All hotels must set individual bandwidth user caps at 2Mb<br />

download/1Mb upload or higher and have sufficient<br />

bandwidth to deliver to that standard by December 31,<br />

2013.<br />
