SERIES OF SEANCES UPON THE OCEAN.<br />

Among the beautiful thoughts of that celebrated German<br />

philosopher, Kant, are these :<br />

" The day will come when it will be proved that the human soul is<br />

already, during its life on earth, in a close and indissoluble connection<br />

with a world of spirits; that their world influences ours, and impresses it<br />

profoundly; and that we often remain unconscious of it as long as<br />

thing goes right with us."<br />

connection referred to by Kant, as thinkers are conscious<br />

that sound, healthy bodies, and clear, well-balanced minds,<br />

are requisites for the reception of high spiritual inspirations.<br />

Mediumship, a powerful mental stimulant, is largely fashioned<br />

by the controlling spirit-inteUigences. Therefore,<br />

studying a medium's tastes and tendencies, through a<br />

term<br />

of years, is comprehending the characteristics and purposes<br />

of such spirits as influence and minister to the medium, or<br />

psychological subject.<br />

DELICACY OF CONDITIONS.<br />

It is becoming definitely understood that Spiritualism in<br />

its phenomenal aspects is a science controlled by laws as fixed<br />

and absolute as those that govern the motions of physical<br />

bodies. All of Nature's forces are exceedingly subtle.<br />

Therefore, in every branch of research, compliance with<br />

conditions is indispensable ; anc^ these conditions must be<br />
