Inn Cabaret comes back<br />
PRINCETON - The INN CABARET, Princeton’s<br />
weekly musical and comedy revue, will<br />
return to the Nassau Inn for seven shows this summet,<br />
according to director Dan Berknwitz. "l suppose<br />
you could call it ’Seven for ’77’ if you want a<br />
slogan," Berkowhz said. "We’ll open on Ju<strong>ne</strong> 17,<br />
and continue Jn<strong>ne</strong> 24, July l and 8, take three<br />
weeks off, then come back on Aug. 5, 12, and 19.<br />
That way we can do a summer season, and still<br />
make sure everyo<strong>ne</strong>, including the oudlence, gets a<br />
vacation." Auditions h~r the summer season are<br />
scheduled for Sunday, starting at 7:30 p.m. in the<br />
Prince WJlllam Room of the Nassau Inn. Anyo<strong>ne</strong><br />
interested in auditioning should bring music with<br />
them and be prelmred to sing anti do a comedy<br />
reading. Writers with original sketeh nmterlal are<br />
also <strong>ne</strong>eded, and may drop off samples of |heir<br />
work at the andithms.<br />
Orchestra auditions slated=<br />
LAWRENCE -- Auditions for membersifip in the<br />
Mercer County Symphonic Orchestra will be held<br />
Monday and Tuesday in the Msuic House on the<br />
Lawrenceville Scluatl campus. String, woodwind,<br />
brass and percussion players of high school and<br />
college age living in the Delaware Valley are<br />
eligible. Applicants should be prepared to play a<br />
solo piece and scales, and sight read orchestra<br />

Festival celebrates cultures<br />
EDISON -- Mkldlesex Coanty will welcome an<br />
exciting variety of cuhures on Sunday, with its<br />
third annual International Folk Festival to be held<br />
at Middlesex County College from noon to 6 p.m.<br />
Groups representing over 4b different<br />
nationalities will take part in expressing traditions<br />
and llfe styles through cultural exhibits, handicrah<br />
demonstrations, folk-lore storytelling anti a variety<br />
of colorful dance and musical perhwma<strong>ne</strong>as. The<br />
International Food Bazaar will offer a<br />
smorgasbord of authentie old wnrld specialities.<br />
Sold at oust, the variety will run from s, oups to<br />
pastries and include variations of world famous<br />
and well known delicacies, A parade of nations will<br />
start the day’s event in the Perh~rnfing Arts ectmplex<br />
o! the College student center. Costunles from<br />
around the world will be worn by representatives,<br />
young and old, and will display the color and<br />
history of each nation.<br />

EAST MILLSTONE -- "’Transitions," a<br />
dramatic interpretation el events in Somerset<br />
Cnunty during 1777. will he presented in two<br />
open-air performances on Suuday, at 7 and 8:30<br />
p.m. at Colonial Park. The story of lutile British<br />
attempts to subdue the Cohmly of the Je~eys,<br />
climaxed by Cornwallis’ march on Millsto<strong>ne</strong> whh<br />
an army el 17,000 men, Ju<strong>ne</strong> 14, 1777, is told<br />
through the eyes of Captain Ross Poldark of the<br />
Enniskillen Guards, and Sam Sutpheu, a Jersey<br />
militiaman. Glimpses of the Conti<strong>ne</strong>ntal Congress<br />
in Philadelphia and a wave of the <strong>ne</strong>w stars and<br />
stripes stitched by Betsy Ross are woven into this<br />
muhi-medla production.<br />
