I was on my trip to Colorado with my
family. Suddenly, a storm swept in and you
couldn’t see 15 feet in front of you. We
were driving down at about 45 miles per
hour. Suddenly, a
random car
appeared. Our car
smashed into the
rear of the car that
had appeared.
The glass of both cars shattered. All of the
airbags were out. The other family that was
with us came back for us. We called a tow
truck and the tow truck pulled our car away.
Afterwards, we went to
Wendy’s. We grabbed a
bite and headed on.

It was in the middle of August, right after our soccer
game. My cousins were visiting, and we decided to go
biking. I was trying to go along with no hands, but that did
not go so good. I lost balance, and fell off my bike and fell
on my face on the concrete. The road scraped up my
cheek, and left a gash.I had to go to the ER, and get my
stitches in. Getting the stitches in wasn’t so bad, because
it didn’t hurt at all. The people at the hospital were very
nice. Stitches weren't fun.

Today’s Health Topic: Down Syndrome
Down Syndrome is a genetic disorder. It is also known as trisomy 21.
This genetic disorder is caused by a third copy of chromosome 21. Down
Syndrome is associated with physical growth delays. Some symptoms may
include a small chin, slanted eyes, poor muscle tone, a flat nasal bridge, a
flat and wide face, and a single
crease of the palm. The
average IQ of a young adult
with Down Syndrome is 50.
Down Syndrome causes a
lifelong intellectual disability and
development delays. Most
people that have Down
Syndrome have 47
chromosomes, instead of 46.
The risk of your child having
Down Syndrome is higher if you
are older when you get pregnant. It is also riskier when the child has a
brother or sister that has Down Syndrome. Sometimes, a baby may be
diagnosed with this syndrome after birth. Most times though, the baby will
be diagnosed before birth. A baby with Down Syndrome can have a
hallmark appearance. The average height for a human with Down
Syndrome is 5ft 1in for an adult male and 4ft 9in for an adult female. Down
Syndrome is the most common genetic chromosomal disorder and cause
of learning disabilities in children. Approximately one in every 700 babies
have Down Syndrome. About 6,000 babies are born with Down Syndrome
each year. The Syndrome was fully described by a doctor named John
Langdon Down, in 1866. People with Down Syndrome do not have more or
less of a chance of cancer. The rate of a heart of someone with Down
Syndrome is around 40 percent when they are born.

Who knew there was a species of the
spider called the Hobo Spider? The Hobo
Spider is an aggressive house spider. It is a
member of the genus of spiders known
colloquially as funnel
web spiders. The
medical significance of
its bite is still poorly
understood. The
species was first
discovered in 1802 by
a naturalist. The Hobo
Spider may become
aggressive when thought that its egg sack
is being threatened. Hobo Spiders are
mostly recognized wrongly, although they
have a number of differences in their
appearance.

Who knew that “genuine leather” does
not mean that something is made out of
real leather? Genuine refers to the quality
of the leather, and is actually the second
worst type of leather on the market! The
grades of leather
from best to worst
are full-grain,
top-grain,
suede/split-leather,
genuine leather,
and bonded
leather. The best type of leather, full-grain,
has not been sanded or buffed down to
reduce its thickness. Other leathers are
thinner than full-grain because they are
sanded or split to improve its appearance or
cost.

Recipe:
Chocolate Lava Cake
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Spray four custard cups with baking
spray and place on a baking sheet.
Microwave the butter, bittersweet
chocolate and semisweet chocolate in
a large bowl on high until the butter is
melted, about 1 minute. Whisk until the
chocolate is also melted. Stir in the
sugar until well blended. Whisk in the
eggs and egg yolks, then add the
vanilla. Stir in the flour. Divide the
mixture among the custard cups.
Bake until the sides are firm and the
centers are soft, about 13 minutes. Let stand 1 minute. Invert on individual
plates while warm and serve with vanilla ice cream.
I chose to write a recipe about the chocolate lava cake is because it is my
favorite food. It is one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted in my
entire life. It is my favorite dessert. Even when I am extremely full, I still
have to eat chocolate lava cake after my meal. The first time I ever tried
this was at the Lionsgate clubhouse and from that day on, chocolate lava
cake has been the love of my life.

REVIEW:
The Waterboy
The Waterboy was a good movie. I really
liked how there was a lot of humor in it. I liked
how it included football, because I really like
football. The Waterboy included a lot of life
lessons. It also had a alot of action. I like how the
main character, Adam Sandler goes from the
team’s waterboy to the star. The Waterboy is my
all-time favorite movie and is a great comedy.
