To the east, the charming towns of Ottery St Mary, Axminster,
Tiverton and Honiton provide a host of niche and bespoke
shops and cafes. Further South, the unique towns of Totnes,
Kingsbridge, Modbury, Newton Abbot and Bovey Tracey are
full of heritage and culture, offering striking castles, arts and
crafts, and grand country houses with spectacular gardens.
If you love to get active, at Haldon Forest you can swing
through the trees, enjoy a ride on a Segway or speed round
the off-road cycling tracks. For a gentler pace explore, on foot
or by bike, the miles of the pathways running along the Exe
and Teign Estuaries. And there are plenty of things to keep
the children happy, from parks and farms with cuddly animals
to theme parks and action-packed days out - you’ll find your
perfect family day out right here.
The exceptional quality of Devon food and drink means that
the area is famous for its award-winning restaurants, food
festivals, and markets. Everything is on offer, from Devonshire
Cream Teas, fresh local seafood, local wine and ales, and to top
it all off, local ice creams and fudges.
The area hosts a packed events calendar all year round so you
can be sure what ever time of year you visit there is always
things to see and do.
Whatever the reason for your visit, there is accommodation to
suit, from boutique hotels, to lodges in the woods, beachside
camping sites to cosy B&B’s, finding a place to relax at the end
of a day’s exploring couldn’t be easier.
