Modelling and assembly of<br />

the full vehicle<br />

6.1 Introduction<br />

In this chapter we will address the main systems that must be modelled and<br />

assembled to create and simulate the dynamics of the full vehicle system.<br />

The term ‘full vehicle system’ needs to be understood within the context of<br />

this textbook. The use of powerful modern multibody systems software<br />

allows the modelling and simulation of a range of vehicle subsystems representing<br />

the chassis, engine, driveline and body areas of the vehicle. This is<br />

illustrated in Figure 6.1 where it can be seen that multibody systems models<br />
