System Requirements
Audio CD players
The CD included with this book will work just fine in any standard CD player.
Just put it into your home stereo system, and check out “CD audio tracks,”
later in the chapter, for the track descriptions.
Computer CD-ROM drives
If you have a computer, you can pop the accompanying CD into your CD-ROM
drive to access the MP3 files that I’ve included. Make sure that your computer
meets the minimum system requirements shown here.
A computer running Microsoft Windows or Mac OS
Software capable of playing MP3s and CD Audio
A CD-ROM drive
A sound card for PCs (Mac OS computers have built-in sound support)
Using the CD with Microsoft Windows
To install the items from the CD to your hard drive, follow these steps:
1. Insert the CD into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.
2. The CD-ROM interface will appear.
The interface provides a simple point-and-click way to explore the contents
of the CD.
If you don’t have autorun enabled, or if the CD-ROM interface doesn’t appear,
follow these steps to access the CD:
1. Click Start➪Run.
2. In the dialog box that appears, type d:\setup.exe, where d is the letter
of your CD-ROM drive.
This brings up the autorun window described in the preceding set of steps.
