How low can you go? Moving<br />

from fifth position to third<br />

The position immediately below the home position in A minor pentatonic is<br />

third position. Third position features just four notes on two strings, and<br />

these notes are on the two lowest strings of the guitar, extending the notes of<br />

the home position downward.<br />

Figure 9-7 shows the four notes of the third-position lower extension of A<br />

minor pentatonic.<br />
