So called as the socket (female part) incorporates a parallel spring mechanism which engages
the stud (male part). These springs are very similar in shape to the letter S.
This type of fastener is traditionally used on outerwear (all ages), often on over shirts and also
on leather goods (purses etc.)
S Spring type must only be used on WOVEN FABRICS - NOT KNITTED.

This type of product is manufactured in 3 standards sizes of open prongs, LIGNE 14, LIGNE15
and LIGNE 16.
The snap is produced on this product by the construction of a petal like socket (female) which
engages the stud (male).
This product is suitable for use on knitted fabrics due to the construction of the five pronged
ring which attaches with either the socket or the stud.
A LIGNE is a measurement equivalent to 1/40th of an inch and the size of the product relates
to the diameter of the open prong.

Production Process
Raw materials – Alloy – Alloys Zamak or Brass
Brass is a metal alloy made of copper and zinc; the
proportions of zinc and copper can be varied to create
a range of brasses with varying properties.
Zamak (formerly trademarked as ZAMAK and also
known as Zamac) is a family of alloys with a base metal
of zinc and alloying elements
of aluminium, magnesium, and copper.
We dont use iron or tin as raw material which are much cheaper then brass and zamak. İron
and tin gets oxidized, gets rusty and easily breakable or twistable.
İf iron or tin is used as raw material still it can be coated, but coating finally will go off and it
will start to get rusty and it will not only ruin your clothes it will also ruin your reputation

Brass or Zamak
• Most significant difference between zamak and
brass
• Brass is lighter and when you compare to zamak
it is cheaper and it is mostly used in Denim
products.
• Brass shaped as cold, zamak is melted and
shaped with the die-cast (with pattern/mould)
• Zamak is heavier and more expensive compare to
brass
• Solid and heavy and luxury look
