On March 30, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma
County hosted the annual Champions of Youth
Celebration at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country
Club. The theme of this year's celebration was
"Believe" and we could hardly believe how much
fun the event was!

The night started out with cocktails and
conversation in the Great Hall, while a choir from
BGCOKC gave a short, but impressive concert. After
the cocktail hour, guests were moved into a
beautiful dining area where a delicious dinner was
served and a live auction was had with prizes
ranging from Dallas Cowboys tickets to a night with
Lady Gaga and a trip to New York City.
BELIEVE
After the main course, it was time to celebrate the
night's honorees. The first award of the evening
was for the Corporate Champion of Youth, which
was accepted by Lowe's for their generous grant as
part of Lowe's 2016 Renovation Across the Nation
initiative
Their outstanding commitment to giving the Club
the makeover it needed (and not to mention,
providing the volunteers to make it happen) could
not go unrewarded.

Renamed in his honor, the Aubrey K. McClendon
Lifetime Achievement Award was accepted by the
McClendon Family. Over the years, the McClendons
have supported the Boys & Girls Clubs of
Oklahoma County, which was important to Aubrey.
Alexis Smith was the recipient of the third and final
award of the evening, the 2017 BGCOKC Youth of
the Year Award. Alexis was honored for her
outstanding academic achievement as well as her
commitment to serving the Club. Alexis is a proud
Junior Staff member and is an officer of the
BGCOKC Keystone Club.

The night wrapped up with a spectacular
performance by the Ambassadors' Concert Choir
and the announcement of a new comprehensive
campaign.
BGCOKC would like to thank our Champions of
Youth Sponsors as well as everyone who was in
attendance for a wonderful night. Your generosity
exceeded our expectations and makes us believe in
the Great Future that lies ahead.
