Ben Roshia has been doing very well with
several businesses, including a bar/restaurant/catering
operation and a 12,000-sq.-ft.
indoor/outdoor event venue in Brooklyn, NY.
Rachel (Mosher) Rose is a massage therapist
in the Pittsfield, MA, area. Her husband,
Franz, and dog, Ada (below), recently joined
a group of Darrow students and members
of the Town of New Lebanon Conservation
Advisory Council for a field verification site
visit on her father-in-law, Uli’s, beautiful New
Lebanon property.
Julia (Kaplan) Dauer (above) remembers
her Darrow years very fondly and believes
they laid a strong foundation for future success
both academically and professionally.
Julia graduated from University of Denver
with a degree in communications. After
graduation she moved to Boston to pursue
a career in the pharmaceutical industry.
For the past nine years, Julia has worked
in biotech, gaining roles with increasing
responsibility within the field of clinical
operations. Currently she is a senior clinical
trial manager, responsible for the oversight
and execution of early phase trials at a
small bio-pharmaceutical company focused
on the development of treatments for infectious
diseases and liver diseases. In 2016,
Julia began pursuing a master’s in science
degree at Brandeis University, with a focus
on program and project management, and
expects to graduate in 2019. In 2013, she
married the love of her life, whom she met
in 2008. Her husband, Benjamin Dauer, is a
computer programmer. They live together
in Waltham, MA, just outside of Boston.
Julia remains close with Meg Sweet ’01,
and both enjoy reminiscing about past adventures
and planning new ones. Julia says
she wasn’t always the easiest student but
she hopes very much to reach her former
teachers to let them know their influence
was a significant piece of her success.
She writes, “I hope all Darrow students
know how lucky they are to receive such a
wonderful education that prepares them for
whatever they endeavor or desire.”
Members of the Town of New Lebanon
Conservation Advisory Council joined
with Darrow students in September for a
field site visit. From left: Craig Westcott,
She is very active in the Darrow
community, attending regional gatherings,
serving on the capital campaign committee,
and visiting campus, most recently in
December 2016, when she was able to see
her former advisor, Director of Athletics
