Phil O’Donoghue (below, left) met for lunch
recently with Darrow’s Lawrence Klein and
Mika Saarela (right). After updating them
on his current educational adventures, Phil
spoke about the ways that Darrow has made
a difference to people like his wife, Valle
Dwight ’75, and his son, Tim O’Donoghue
’10, and was intrigued by Darrow’s
development of project-based learning.
Rob Hale (below, left) lives in Aurora, CO,
where he lives and works as an independent
travel agent. Rob was happy to help

her recruiting trip to Asia in fall 2016, as well
as Head of School Simon Holzapfel and
Director of Institutional Advancement Lawrence
Klein with their upcoming trip to Asia
in March and April 2017 (see page 37).

including a trip to Russia, and faculty
members like Mike Corral and Sheldon
Flory. Alan comes east to visit his parents
in Monticello, NY, and is looking forward to
visiting campus next time.

Roy Leinfuss lives in sunny Salida, CO, and
travels around the entire country recording
live music shows, sometimes also working
as a crew member. He is an avid cyclist,
logging many miles all over Colorado and
the West. Read more about Roy and his love

August Gangi (pictured below with Lawrence
Klein), lives outside Boston and is the
senior vice president/corporate counsel
at Risk Strategies Company. He plans to
come to Darrow this spring to talk with the
lacrosse players and take a bike ride with
Head of School Simon Holzapfel.
Laura Ball (above, with Lawrence Klein and
Simon Holzapfel) lives on the east coast
of Florida, where she is a hospice nurse/
supervisor and an independent distributor
for Alphay Products. She has three kids and
two grandsons.
Brad Bryant joined a group for a recent
gathering in Denver, CO (see Regional Gatherings
on page 36), where he has lived for
close to 35 years. Brad works in cell phone
tower design and recently had a daughter
graduate from college.
