Check out our club website for more information at www.blackburnfc.com.au CROYDON: We look forward to this week’s game against Vermont and our boys are keen to continue to put on a good show. Last week against Blackburn in good conditions, the Colts were up against a side in the fi nals race and from the very fi rst bounce they matched it goal for goal for the signifi cant majority of the match. Whenever Blackburn got a three or four goal lead our boys replied with two or three themselves. It was a great game to watch and the boys showed that they have improved massively since the start of the season. The reserves were up next and with a very depleted list, were never in the hunt against a stronger and deeper list. The boys tried hard, but numbers held out in the end. The seniors started off and it was a great game, probably many passages in the fi rst half were the best we have played all year. At half-time we were done by just three points and well in the game. A disappointing third quarter killed off any chances we had, only to see a competitive fi nal quarter. We had the 1971 Premiership reunion lunch for the day and with almost 100 people in attendance. It was great to see the return of so many legends of the club. We are also planning to have a lunch on for the last Home game of the season against Norwood, so make sure you book a table!! On August 13 we have our major raffl e draw, so make sure you have your ticket – which entitles you to some refreshments and supper. It is not too late to buy your ticket today and be in for the chance of being a BIG BIG winner!!! EAST BURWOOD: What a fantastic last quarter from the Colts, to fall short by the shortest of margins was heart breaking. To see these young guys clearly disappointed was hard to take, all one can say is keep your chins up and continue on where you left off last week, if you can do that, then a win is not far away. Just keep trying boys. The reserves fell short by 29 points and look forward to this week’s challenge, opportunities and doors are opening for reserves as we seen last week, senior footy should be on the tongue and in the minds of every player. In saying that, two fi rst gamers in Leigh Waldron and Jason Hunt tried hard. Unfortunately Jason went down with a dislocated shoulder, we hope he has a speedy recovery. The seniors had a great win against fourth-placed Knox who were playing good consistent footy, the Rams applied consistent pressure all day. It was great to see Israel Carter and Tim Morgan in their fi rst game for the club with both players fulfi lling their rolls on the day and coming home with a most impressive win. This week is another challenge, East Ringwood will want to give a good account of themselves with a change of coach, the Rams need to keep winning our destiny is in our own hands, we have a vision and that’s where we want to go. The $5,000 draw went off well and was a success. The Club would like to thank everyone for their support on the night. Today’s Luncheon is our Annual Angels Luncheon with guest speaker Robyn McLeod the mother of senior player Daniel Gribbin. If you are interested at this late date see Jacinta you might be lucky to get a seat. Our Best and Fairest Night is to be held on the 8th of October at the Novotel Glen Waverley keep this date free, more details soon. Good luck to all teams today and GO RAMS! EAST RINGWOOD: The Colts began the game well and were right in it until half-time but a strong third term by the Eagles set them up and they gradually went away from us to win by 34 points. The reserves made a slow start and a poor second quarter saw us playing catch-up against a more mature and bigger side and despite matching them in the second half, we went down by 24 points. After a tumultuous few days, the senior Roos led the Eagles at every change www.efl .org.au 16 DIVISION 1 TEAMS
