Jonathan decided to play with the Florida Panthers when he
got the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“The biggest thing was the opportunity to be playing every
game. The Florida Panthers are really good and I wanted to be
part of a good team. I also like the Florida weather; it’s a better
lifestyle for my family,” said Jonathan, who has two children.
Jonathan has decided to make Delray Beach his home. Jonathan
was first drawn to the town of Delray Beach while visiting
his family-in-law, whom lived in the City.
“When I was in the NHL before, my father-in-law had a house
here, and my wife and I came to Delray Beach for vacation. We
just liked the area, the beach and the Avenue with shopping and
restaurants. We are happy to stay in a familiar place. It was a no
brainer for me to come here,” said Jonathan.
On his free time, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family
exploring the City of Delray Beach and playing sports.
“I like to go to the movies with my wife and to the many
great restaurants on Atlantic Avenue. I also love golfing and
playing tennis. But most of time, I enjoy taking care of my kids
and my wife,” he added.
In the meantime, the local star hockey player spends much
of his time on the ice, practicing for the season with his teammates.
He also keeps in good physical shape by training while
off the ice and taking care of any sports related injuries.
“This season right now with the Florida Panthers is a big turning
point for my career. I am happy where I am right now and
want to keep it going,” said Jonathan, adding, “There are always
challenges. It’s hard to be a successful team every year; there’s
always competition and new players on the teams. But right now
we are doing a good job to come back and I think it’s going well.”
The Delray Beach hockey player is happy to be able to do
what he loves every day.
“I enjoy the fact that it’s a passion for me. I love what I do, love
my work, and love bringing a good lifestyle to me and my family.
With hockey, I am able to be living good and my family is living
a good life also,” said Jonathan.
In the long-term, Jonathan would like to continue playing
hockey for the local team and plans to be living in Delray Beach
for a long time.
“Career-wise, I would love to have a future long-term contract
with the Florida Panthers. l love the City, love the fans, and love
playing for the Florida Panthers,” exclaimed Jonathan. “I would
love to be with the Panthers for a long time. Let’s see what happens
with the future and hopefully I can stay. There are a lot of
ups and downs in the season, but what keeps me motivated is
I love winning and want to be better; I want to pass what I did
before and get better every year.”
