► from the editor Hello April :) The Ave has been busy these past few months! The weather has been perfect for strolling, outdoor dining, and happy hour. But now it’s April... Snowbirds go home and Spring Breakers go back to school. 2017 is the 55th year of The Delray Affair! This is the largest arts and crafts festival in the South East United States and is meticulously organized by our incredible Greater Delray Chamber of Commerce. The event spans 12 blocks from SE 2nd street to the Intracoastal from April 7-9. For more information visit www.delrayaffair.com. Speaking of art...we would like to introduce Melanie Johanson - the Curator of the Cornell Museum. She has an eye for art and inspires creativity that is clearly visible by the exhibits she organizes. Stop by the Museum and see for yourself! Read about Melanie in our City Person feature. Have you been considering expanding your family by four furry feet? Adoption is a great option! Check out our Pet Spotlight and see some amazing cats and dogs in need of a home. The Tri County Humane Society has many pets ready to be your best friend. Remember to send us a photo of your new baby! One of Delray’s best places to eat, stay, and play is the Sundy House! Join Diane Feen as she describes the delectable dishes she sampled in our Restaurant Review feature. Sundy House is not just a restaurant - it is also a boutique hotel chock full of Delray history. It is also a beautiful event space, and has one of the best brunches ever! Sunday Fun Day can be “Sundy” Fun Day! Every month we feature a recipe from one of our local restaurants. They graciously share a dish that is easy to replicate in the comfort of your kitchen. We invite you to send us a photo of your version of a recipe we have published and let us know how you did! This month we have Bacon Bourbon Halibut from Mussel Beach - YUM!!! See you at the Delray Affair! Yvette roulette, editor 6 April 2017 | www.AtlanticAveMagazine.com
