Gulfstream Goodwill Industries’ 6th Annual<br />

Golf Tournament, presented by Max Davis<br />

Associates, Inc.<br />

This event, chaired by Amy and Bruce<br />

Testa, is the non-profit organization’s premier<br />

fundraising event of the year. Funds<br />

raised benefit Gulfstream Goodwill’s more<br />

than two dozen health, human and social<br />

services programs.<br />

Event participants will receive breakfast,<br />

18 holes of championship golf, beverages<br />

on the course, lunch, a gift bag and a Greg<br />

Norman dry-fit shirt. Participants will also<br />

have a chance to win prizes and bid on silent<br />

auction items. Registration begins at 7 a.m.<br />

The tournament begins with a shotgun start<br />

at 8:30 a.m., and the lunch and awards ceremony<br />

take place at 1 p.m.<br />

Chiera Family Foundation –<br />

24th Annual Event<br />

The Chiera Family Foundations mission<br />

is to enhance the lives of kids and young<br />

adults who are battling cancer.<br />

To support this mission, they are holding<br />

their 24th Annual Dinner/Auction on <strong>April</strong><br />

30, <strong>2017</strong> at Broken Sound Country Club,<br />

Boca Raton, Fl. The golf tournament will be<br />

the next day, May 1st at The Old Course at<br />

Broken Sound.<br />

100% of the proceeds will be used to: -<br />

• Send kids battling cancer to Camp Boggy<br />

Creek in Central Florida<br />

• Teach kids battling cancer about the<br />

game of golf as well as learning many of life’s<br />

important lessons. This is done in conjunction<br />

with The First Tee of Broward County.<br />

• Provide college scholarships to young<br />

adults who have beaton or continue to battle<br />

cancer.<br />

Kiwanis Support <strong>Atlantic</strong><br />

High Key Club<br />

The mission as a Key Club is to provide its<br />

members with opportunities to serve and<br />

volunteer, build character, and develop leadership<br />

skills.<br />

Key Club is a student led community service<br />

organization. Not only do they hold<br />

service projects at each of their bimonthly<br />

meetings, they also serve outside of school,<br />

participating in the betterment of our community.<br />

Key Club at <strong>Atlantic</strong> High School has<br />

about 80 active members.<br />

“We recently received generous donations<br />

from both Delray Beach Elks Lodge<br />

#1770 and Delray Beach Sunrise Kiwanis.<br />

These funds will help supplement our efforts<br />

to attend the District Education and<br />

Leadership Conference (DCON), held by the<br />

Key Club Florida District in Orlando.” said<br />

Aces Hosted By The City Of<br />

Delray Beach<br />

And representing the United States in<br />

Paris is…<br />

From the beginning, the competition<br />

was fierce but U.S. #25 Nishesh Basavareddy<br />

(Carmel, IN) and U.S. #4 Lucas Brown<br />

(Plano, TX) stood out among the pack. The<br />

<strong>2017</strong> Longines Future Tennis Aces hosted<br />

by the City of Delray Beach encompassed a<br />

range of players from all over the country<br />

and two players from our own backyard. In<br />

the championship, Basavareddy showed off<br />

his all-around court style and Brown showcased<br />

his aggressive baseline play. The first<br />

two sets were nail bitters but in the end<br />

Basavareddy persevered playing an impressive<br />

final set winning 6-4, 5-7, 6-1.<br />

Congratulations to all the players who<br />

earned their way to Delray Beach and proved<br />
