Food Fit For Royalty<br />

Sundy House is food for the Gods in<br />

both an aesthetic and culinary sense.<br />

Where else can you sit under luscious<br />

tropical plants and trees and eat food that<br />

is divinely ordained? Add that to twinkling<br />

lanterns and tiny lights and you have a meal<br />

(and an experience) that is part ethereal<br />

wonderment and part culinary genius.<br />

We have no doubt that The Sundy House<br />

is more precious than a coveted turn-of-thecentury<br />

gemstone as it was voted in 2016<br />

by diners of OpenTable.com as a one of the<br />

“100 Best Outdoor Dining Restaurants in<br />

America.” We also realize that many people<br />

don’t know that dinner is served at this historic<br />

Victorian masterpiece every Tuesday<br />

to Sunday starting at 6pm.<br />

“People don’t understand that we serve<br />

dinner during the week. They know about<br />

our brunch, but many people don’t realize<br />

that you can dine in a quiet beautiful restaurant<br />

right off the avenue,” said Travis Culver,<br />

Executive Chef at the Sundy House.<br />

Culver is right. Dining at The Sundy House<br />

is akin to being on a deserted island without<br />

a life boat (that you wouldn’t want even if you<br />

had one). The outstanding tangible is that they<br />

are just minutes from the <strong>Ave</strong>nue, yet millions<br />

of ethereal miles from civilization. You can almost<br />

throw a stone from <strong>Atlantic</strong> <strong>Ave</strong>nue and<br />

Swinton and hit a Royal Poinciana tree on the<br />

premises of this majestic space.<br />

There is one difference between this historic<br />

landmark and most restaurants with a<br />

pretty face – the food is equally as spectacular<br />

as the surroundings. Yes, we expected<br />

the food to be good and yes we thought<br />

they would have a well storied chef. But the<br />

menu is far superior to most; and the marinades,<br />

fish dishes, vegetables and salads are
