Foreign Language Courses* <strong>IDC</strong> <strong>Herzliya</strong><br />
offers foreign language courses to all of its<br />
students at the various departments within<br />
the framework of general elective courses<br />
including: Italian, German, Spanish, Arabic,<br />
French and Chinese. The purpose of the<br />
course is to provide those with no prior<br />
knowledge with the ability to read at an<br />
advanced level within one year. Language<br />
courses are intensive and are conducted in<br />
small groups.<br />

The Berman-Lippa Family Foundation<br />
Debate Club 85% of the members of the<br />
British Parliament are alumni of or members<br />
of debating societies. Renowned orators<br />
and statesmen, such as Henry Kissinger,<br />
Abba Eban, and Benjamin Netanyahu,<br />
also honed their skills in debating clubs.<br />
Like other elite universities around the<br />
world, <strong>IDC</strong> <strong>Herzliya</strong> sponsors an award<br />
winning debating society, which provides<br />
students with an opportunity to acquire<br />
and improve their debating and rhetorical<br />
skills. Debating is a challenging intellectual<br />
sport which focuses on competition between<br />
rivaling groups which aim to convince the<br />
public to support or to oppose a certain<br />
proposition. <strong>IDC</strong> <strong>Herzliya</strong> Debate Club<br />
was the only debating society which reached<br />
the semi- finals at the world championship<br />
in the year 2006 in the category “English<br />
as a second language”.<br />
