Our Training Courses
Classroom Training
Classroom training sessions generally
take place at our Training
Centers. Theoretical principles of
imaging are supplemented by a
wide range of practical exercises
on the most recent systems,
giving learners the opportunity
to gain skills for day-to-day clinical
work.
Clinical Workshop
Clinical workshops are training
programs of between one and
several days duration with a
special focus on clinical issues.
They include lectures given by
clinical experts, live examinations
and in many cases practical
exercises, too.
Fellowship Program
Participants accompany clinical
experts on their daily rounds in a
specialist unit, observe examination
and diagnostic procedures,
and expand their skills through
direct interaction with mentors.
E-Learning
E-Learning content is available
on CD-ROMs, as web-based
training, and in live virtual classrooms.
You receive interactive
application training in which
system operation is clearly presented.
Most E-Learning courses
conclude with a certifi cation
exam.

Knowledge is valuable and ensures the future viability of
your workforce. Constantly building on your expertise and
adding to your skills is a must for staying competitive.
As a healthcare industry service provider, your hospital
and imaging center staff need access to comprehensive
knowledge of processes, applications and technologies.
As a system or application user, it is vitally important to
keep pace with advances in technology and extend your skills
in the use of technical medical equipment.
Whether you are a fi rst-time user or experienced specialist,
courses given at our international training centers provide
just the right learning environment. Our hands-on courses
and sequenced training modules allow learners to acquire
skills quickly and easily. The result – your company’s skills
base and that of your employees is kept at a high level.
Get to know CARE (Combined Applications to Reduce Exposure)
now, an innovative technological approach for diagnostic
and interventional imaging. Because the CARE standard
reduces radiation exposure while maintaining consistently
high image quality, the safety of patients and personnel is
ensured.
How our training
can deliver value:
• Additional revenues
due to improved system
utilization
SPECT Imaging in Neurology
Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and
positron emission tomography (PET) are established imaging
procedures in conventional and differential diagnosis of neurodegenerative
illnesses. Coursework focuses on the use of
Integration of IDL Applications in syngo MI Workplace
Course participants learn to write their own applications in
syngo MI Application (e.soft) using the IDL programming
language. The implementation of IDL on syngo MI Workplace
allows the creation of customized solutions for image
processing tasks not possible using standard e.soft workfl
ows. The main course topic is the interface between syngo
MI Workplace and an IDL application in theory and hands-on
training. Small sample applications are created.
A basic understanding of medical image processing, the
creation of syngo MI Application workfl ows, batch fi les and
the IDL programming language is required. No experience in
writing IDL applications for e.soft is required. For participants
not familiar with basic IDL properties, we recommend attending
a general IDL course prior to attending this one.
Workshop
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is gaining in importance
as a critical component in complementary breast tumor diagnostics.
As an additive examination method, this diagnostic
technique is now playing an indisputable role both in preventative
diagnostics, e.g., in patients with a genetic predisposition,
as well as in clarifying unclear diagnostic fi ndings or
questionable recurrences. This workshop also covers new
examination protocols such as MRI spectroscopy. In addition
to introducing key theoretical principles, this hands-on
course expands your knowledge (e.g. in MRI-guided biopsy)
and allows learners to apply concepts learned directly to the
latest MRI system equipment.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound diagnostics
From the generation of simple gray-scale images, diagnostic
ultrasound imaging has developed into a highly advanced
technical procedure. New areas of use and innovative applications
have increased the importance of sonography in
medicine.
In collaboration with specialists across all disciplines,
Siemens is developing new systems, modern technologies
and innovative methods in the fi eld of diagnostics. Founded
on a knowledge-based workfl ow, it is already possible today
to remodel clinical routines through enhanced information
density and by widening the range of applications – all
of which helps achieve considerably improved diagnostic
accuracy.
Our training courses are planned within a narrow time frame
in order to account for the rapid evolution of ultrasound
diagnostics while also offering course participants the greatest
possible amount of learning content possible.
