Hydrological trends<br />

In order to complete the scenario of streamflows trend changes in the La Plata<br />

basin, in figure 6.7 it is presented the annual mean flow of other tributaries. In each<br />

case, the mean flow is indicated for the complete period with available information<br />

(red line) <strong>and</strong> the linear trend calculated starting from 1970 (green line), when there<br />

are available data. It is observed that the Bermejo, Paraguay, Iguazú, Paraná <strong>and</strong><br />

Uruguay rivers show positive trends in their streamflow from 1970, while the<br />

Pilcomayo River presents a trend to higher annual flows between 1960 <strong>and</strong> 1990<br />

<strong>and</strong> from there on, a negative trend.<br />
