to fight back

important message to impart
via a new video by Blush.
Titled Taapsee Unblushed, the
video asks women to learn
self defence, and hit back.
Through the video, the actress
defend yourself if the situation
demands it.”
The video shows many
women who are seen
apologising for wearing a
short skirt, for having a drink,
for walking home alone and
everything else that they do
for the fear of societal norms.
Just then, Taapsee Pannu
walks in and tells the audience
that they aren’t apologising to
society – they are apologising
to themselves and their
bodies. It’s time women learn
to fight with these men, and
call to all the young women
in order to make them realise
that self defence is no longer
just an option, it’s a necessity,
and a must-have skill for every
woman.
“It’s time for us to be
responsible for our own safety
and learn to protect ourselves.
The video resonates with
me and I am glad to be a part
of something so powerful,
something I hope every
woman will understand and
act upon,” said Tapsee. •
Rahsaan Noor and Ridy Sheikh
to be seen in Bengali Beauty
Sunil is not leaving The
Kapil Sharma Show

Rahsaan Noor and Ridy Sheikh
will soon be seen in a romantic
period movie, titled Bengali
Beauty. Mushfiqur Rahman and
Tanha Zafreen of Bioscopewala
Productions are producing the
film. Rahsan Noor will also direct
the film, which will be shot in
Dhaka this spring.
The movie is set in Dhaka
during 1970, and the story goes
on to portray the love story
between a radio presenter
(Rahsan Noor) and the beautiful
daughter of an Army general
(Ridy Sheikh).
Noor was last seen in the
2015 film The Spectacular Jihad
of Taz Rahim, where he starred
opposite Bollywood actress,
Monica Dogra. The film was
featured by Film India Worldwide
at the Berlinale Film Festival.
Ridy Sheikh was also featured as
the Bengali face for UNESCO’s
internationally renowned
documentary The Ethnic Origins
of Beauty. Before that, she also
participated in So You Think You
Can Dance Russia, in 2014.
Bioscopewala Productions
is a Bangladeshi based film
production house. They are also
currently developing a romantic
comedy, Motka, the second film
in their 2017 slate.•

Here’s some good news for all Dr
Mashoor Gulati fans – Sunil Grover
(aka Dr Mashoor Gulati) is still
part of The Kapil Sharma Show.
Contrary to reports, he has not left
The Kapil Sharma Show, but he is
on a strike, and will not resume
working until his demands are
met.
Sunil Grover, better known as
Dr Mashoor Gulati, is protesting
against the string of attacks on
doctors by civilians. Doctors are
being attacked by patients and
common people at different places
across Maharashtra. While the
regular doctors have ended their
strike already and returned to
work, Grover isn’t satisfied with
the government’s response, and
is continuing his strike. In fact,
Sunil himself was attacked by
a fellow passenger on a flight,
while returning to Mumbai from
Australia. The fellow passenger,
who called himself a comedian,
threw a shoe at Sunil, and also
abused him verbally. He will
continue to be on strike until the
Mahrashtra government provides
assurance of security to doctors
from civilians.
In fact, if reports are to be
believed, Grover will be shooting
for the upcoming episode, along
with Chandan Prabhakar and Ali
Asgar.
For those who missed the
earlier incident, Sunil Grover’s
mid-air fight is slowly becoming
a soap opera that everyone is
hooked to. Two of the most
famous comedians of India got
into a mid-air fight last week, and
have been on the headlines ever
since then.•
