4.1 Facilitation<br />
The Simiyu Region (SR) and Central Government are improving favourable<br />
conditions to entice and facilitate investment in the region in areas outlined<br />
in part three of this guide. The key investment policies, laws, strategies,<br />
plans and programs that are promoting investment in the district are<br />
presented below.<br />

Policies to guide investment promotion and interventions in Simiyu<br />
Region include: the National Investment Promotion Policy, 1996, National<br />
Agricultural Policy 2013, National Livestock Policy 2006, Sustainable<br />
Industrial Development Policy (SIDP) 1996-2020, National Trade Policy<br />
for Competitive Economy and Export led Growth, National Microfinance<br />
Policy, 2015, National Forest Policy (1998), Bee keeping Policy (1998),<br />
Small and Medium Enterprises Development Policy (2003), National<br />
Land Policy (1995), National Environmental Policy draft 2016, The Mineral<br />
Policy of Tanzania, (2009), Tanzania Mining Industry Investor’s Guide,<br />
2015, and Simiyu Region Vision and development policies.<br />
Legal framework<br />
The major laws and regulations that guide investment promotion and<br />
activities in Simiyu Region are: Tanzania Investment Act (1997), Tanzania<br />
Revenue Authority Act 2006, Land Act (1999), Village Land Act (1999),<br />
Mining Act (1998), Tanzania Bureau of Standards Act (2009), Tanzania<br />
Food and Drugs Act (2003) and Regulations, Plant Protection Act (1997)<br />
and Regulations, The Mining Act (2010), The Mining Regulations 2012,<br />
