the Woolshed at tipapa
This historic and secluded property in Greta Valley is just an
hour’s drive north of central Christchurch. Surrounded by 60
acres of land, and accessed by a long drive, Tipapa is truly unique.
It offers a very peaceful, rural environment with great flexibility
to style your own event – be it corporate or private. It is also a
prime wedding location offering a garden ceremony and dinner
and dancing in the Woolshed.
The original woolshed, built in 1890, overlooks a large grass
circle. The wool storage floor has been converted into a highquality
event centre with seating capacity for up to 140 people.
The area is fully heated, has a sound system and excellent lighting.
Alongside is a commercial kitchen and toilets.
A gallery cottage is close to the woolshed, and boasts its own
private garden. It has one large room, an additional smaller room
and a bathroom. The cottage is heated, carpeted and curtained,
and is ideal for use by a bridal party for preparations.
The large historic homestead itself is set among a well
laid-out garden with mature trees, extensive lawns, herbaceous
borders and rose gardens. For those wishing to stay, there are
four well-furnished guest bedrooms.
Multiple accommodation choices are also available close by in
Greta Valley and at Motunau Beach. Make a time to experience
the setting yourself, and let the hosts show you around this
exquisite estate.
Take up the opportunity to get married, entertain or do business
on one of North Canterbury’s most exclusive private properties.
