Christmas Day
Presents: when to open them and how to pretend
you like them.
WOrDs ViCToRiA TAiT
if you are one of those families that opens presents before
breakfast on Christmas Day, all we have to say is... shame on
you. By traditional standards, it’s considered rather uncouth.
sorry, we didn’t make the rules, it just is. it is acceptable to tear
your stockings open as early as you like, even before sunrise,
but you must wait until the time between the morning church
service and lunch before you open any presents under the tree.
this is early enough to pacify your overly excited screeching
children, but not so early that the glass of champagne in your
hand makes you look as if you have a serious problem.
