Intro
Welcome to the inaugural issue
of EPM Artis Magazine. It was my
dream to create a forum that could
give voice to all of the wonderfully
creative people from all walks of
the various arts and creative disciplines.
Whether they are accomplished
masters of their craft or uncut
diamonds in the rough, I want
to shine a light on their gifts and or
art and give them a voice so that
they may share their talents and
stories with the rest of us. After a
long journey from vision to reality,
that forum has finally arrived. I
would like to thank eveyone involved
with the development and
content of this first issue. Thank
you for your participation in this
project and for your patience,
understanding, belief, faith and
trust in the process that made this
dream come true.

Interview with Mike Porter of Porter House Studios LLC.
Q: Where is Porter House Studios located?
A: Porter House Studios is located in Independence, MO
Q: How did it all start?
A: I started Porter House because I wanted to do short films and I had a
cousin that did RAP performances. I watched allot of music videos and
bought myself a $200 camera. I shot his first music video and then shot
part of a short film. I’ve been doing it ever since.
Q: What was your inspiration as far as having an interest in films and
video?
A: When I was growing up, I wanted to be an actor. Then later on I
wanted to be behind the camera. I have had an interest in cameras
since high school. I always kept one on me, it kept me out of trouble. I
watched allot of movies and MTV was one of my biggest inspirations.
Lately Youtube has kept me motivated. Every time I shoot a video I get
better.
Q; So you like all of the mechanics, effects and the process while doing
a video shoot?
A: Yes. I like working with artists who tell stories with their music. I can
then visualize the story in my mind and create scenes in the video that
help bring that story to life. I work with all types of recording artists. I
take their concept of what they want to shoot and try to make it even
better. I try to make a product that the artist will like.
Q: Where do you see your company 5 years from now?
A: I see myself making more short films and features that not only would
be shown on DVD but the kind of movies that will make it to film festivals
and into movie theatres. I want to work with people that are trying to get
further than where they are already.
Q: What are some of the music videos and films that you have already
shot since your studio has been open?
A: I have done shoots with Renzo AKA Menace, the group MTTG
(Married to The Game) Skyla Shaw,Vel Brantley and K-Real.

Q: Are you working on anything currently?
A: I am currently working on a short film called Not Alone Here. Its a
story based on an urban legend. I am working on some of the details
of the story with my associate Mr. Royce K. He is also a rapper and a
producer. I am planning to complete it by the end of this year.
Q: Who would you like to work within the near future? If you could work
with anybody you choose to work with?
A: Quentin Tarantino and Dave Chappelle. I have always been a
Tarantino fan. He is a great director and I like the writing in his scripts. I
admire Dave’s comedic timing and writing skills as well.
Q: Are there any local people that you want to work with?
A: Royce K, Bill Hughes and Tech Nyne.
Q: What is it that motivates you to be successful in the entertainment
industry?
A: The entertainers. I have grown fond of many of them. There are allot
of talented artist in Kansas City. But allot of them just need to be given
a positive push forward so they can begin to realize their true potential.
They also need to rap about what they know about. I am a realist. If
you aren’t actually living the life you’re rapping about, then don’t put
up a front like that is what you are about. Because if you do, then you
are spitting a lie rather than the truth about you. Because there are
people out there that will put you to the test.
Q: What is your opinion about the message that today’s music industry is
sending to today’s youth?
A: When I listen to some the music being produced today, some of it
doesn’t make any sense. Allot of today’s entertainers are flamboyant.
Like the videos used to be in the 80’s
Q: Do you think that today’s beats and lyrics are better than the material
that has been put out in the past 5 years?
A: It depends. I Still listen to some of my favorite west coast artists and
allot of their beats are still the same as a while ago. Overall as a whole,
I think its getting worse. It could get better but we need more lyricists.
That way we can get away from the over abundance of rappers talking
about shooting and killing all of the time. Then they ad auto tunes so you

can hardly hear what they are actually saying.
Q: What do you think is the reason more talented artist either don’t make
it or last in this business?
A: Because they don’t have any direction. They don’t have the right
people keeping them motivated and helping to keep them heading in
the right direction. They don’t invest their money into the right things to
keep them going. You got to pay to play in whatever you do. I have had
to pay at times to get into a club that I was shooting video footage for
my artists performing there that night. I didn’t mind since I was helping
to support the artist and the venue they were playing at. They want to
record in a studio for free even though the studio has to pay a rental
lease and utilities to operate. They can’t pay for recording time but they
can buy that sack of weed and that drank. You got to pay to play, you
got to spin to win. You’ve got to hustle for it every day.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Half Baked. With Dave Chappelle.
Q: Whats your favorite video game?
A: Grand Theft Auto online.
Q: I understand that you are a coin collector. Please tell me more about
it?
A: I like collecting coins from different cultures and nations, as well as
rare coins if I get the chance.
Q: How does being a husband and a parent inspire you to achieve your
dreams and goals?
A: I’m never satisfied. I want my family to have the finer things in life
that hard work and perseverance will bring to us. Every day I have them
with me, it makes me want to provide more for us. I’m never satisfied.
Q: In closing is there anything you want to ad or mention to our
readers?

Interview with Marci Walsh.
Q: How long have you been modeling?
A: Since high school. I took a long break when I
started college but in the last year or two have
gotten back into modeling.
Q: What is your favorite genre of modeling?
A: I like to do creative things like Boudoir and
outdoor shoots. The more creatvie the better to
go with my protfolio. I like to do things that will
make me hopefully stand out.
Q: How did you actually get into modeling?
A: My cousin is a pretty well known model. She
Convinced me to get back into it. We have a
mutuall friend that lives here in Kansas City that
offered to do a free photo shoot with me. I took
him up on it and things took off from there.
Q: Do you plan to continue modeling after you
graduate from school?
A: Yes. I know that it won’t last forever but I
would like to continue doing it for as long as I
can.
Q: Do you have any upcoming shows or shoots
in the near future?
A: I have a few projects I am trying to work
out. However with my new counceling job and
school it may be a few months before I will be
available for any new photo shoots.
Q: Please tell me more about your studies
as a Neuro Psycology major? What is Neuro
Psycology?
A: Its the study of how the brain makes us work.
I’ve dealt with people close to me that have
had mental health issues. I want to help people
and learn more about what makes people who
they are and what makes them do the things
they do. I’ve been to school for business and
engineering in the past but things didn’t work
out. However once I began my studies in
Psycology, I enjoyed it so much so that i decided
to specialize by focusing on the brain.
Q: Was there any particular incident or person
that inspired you to choose this major to study?
A: I had a Psycology teacher that took a liking
to me and really helped me enjoy my time in the
classes. I also have friends and relatives that
have mental health issues. This major makes
me want to strive to understand more about the
subject so I can empathize more with them.
Q: What kind of degree do you want to get in this
field of study?
A: Hopefully I would like to get my PHD so I can
start a practice and do counceling with people.
Q: How much longer do you have before you
reach your PHD goal?
A: I have about four more years to go. I’m about
half way there.
Q: Let’s talk about your MMA background. You
are a former fighter?
A: Yes. I did that for about 2 years.
Q: How did you get into MMA?
A: I did karate when I was younger. I got my
black belt. I wanted to fight in competition so I
joined an MMA gym. I did well at it. I kept doing
it for about 2 years but stopped when I started
getting
serious about school.
Q: You are into fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
How often do you workout?
A: I try to workout everyday. I at least try to go
for a daily run. I usually run between 2 and three
miles.
Q: Please describe a typical workout routine
through the week?
A: When I am at the gym, I do about 15 minutes
on the treadmill and 10 minutes on the stair
machine. Then I work on my abs for about 10
minutes, then go home.
Q: What kind of diet do you maintain to stay in
shape?

A: I do eat junk food on occasion but most of the
time its vegetarian or vegan. I eat vegetable
stir fry because it is quick and easy to prepare.
I also like to make Indian and Italian dishes as
well. I make sure to count my calories each
meal to maintain my diet.
Q: Who in your family would you call a role
model in your life?
A: It would be my mother. She is one of the
hardest working people I’ve ever known. She
was a teacher. She liked helping people. She
taught me a great many things and never gave
up on me. She has always been supportive of
me and the things I wanted to do in my life. She
was actually my school teacher at one point in
my life.
Q: Really? I bet you didn’t get away with
anything in her class?
A: Uuhh, NO! Lol!
Q: Since one of your hobbies is cooking, what
other dishes do you like to make?
A: I like to make Chicken Marsala and french
toast. I Iike to make my own garlic butter for
the french toast. Dip it in egg and maybe add
cinnamon and powdered sugar. Sometimes I
put some home made Hollandaise sauce on it
and maybe some corned beef or something.
Q: You have expressed an interest in video
games. Which games are you hooked on?
A: I play allot of Play Station 4 games like
Destiny and Grand Theft Auto. I will play most
anything. I have friends that I get together with.
We talk and play allot. It can get pretty stupid
sometimes but it’s allot of fun. I also have a
gaming computer that I built myself.
America Civil War really didn’t do it for me.
However I thought that Doctor Strange was so
awesome that i saw it twice!
Q: What is your favorite cartoon?
A: Rick and Morty on adult swim. It is a pretty
morbid show but its also really intelligent and
well made.
Q: You like to play soccer and are a huge
Sporting KC fan?
A: Yes I am. Lately I have missed some games
due to work and school but I usually try to make
it to every home game. I have been watching
them since the days when they played at the
UMKC soccer fields. They also used to play at
the T-Bones stadium and not many people went
to the games. Now that they have their own
stadium and they won the MLS Championship
again not long ago, its pretty hard to find a
ticket. I played allot of indoor soccer on a
womens team. I have played at the All American
Indoor Complex. I am currently looking to
join another soccer team soon. I have been
interested in the game since I was little.
Q: Who is your favorite Sporting KC Player?
A: Graham Zusi. He’s pretty cute!
Q: Pop Quiz. If money was no object and you
could live anywhere in the world, where would
you live?
A: Japan. I like their culture. It is more
respectful and not always about showing your
dominance more so than in the U.S. Where it
is all about shaking hands, making eye contact
and being assertive.
Q: You like movies and cartoons. What is your
favorite movie of 2016?
A: Definitely Doctor Strange. It was such a
psychedelic experience. It had a whole other
level of fascination for me. I am such a huge
comic book fan. I felt that lately it was one of
the few comic book movies that was true to
its origins. I also liked X-Men Apocalyps and
Suicide Squad. I also like Batman vs Superman
even though all of my friends hated it. Captain

has allot to do with the artist
who is my husband. He is

Interview with Heather Pummer.
Q: You are an abstract artist?
A: Yes. I do it to relieve stress and for a little
me time. I like to visualize my projects from an
unconventional point of view. I mostly draw. I
use color pencils and markers. I try to bring
color, depth and life to my works. I usually do
about 4 or more pieces per year for decorating
and gifts.
Q: What inspires you to create your art?
A: It has been something I have done for many
years. I had a tough time growing up. I used it
as an escape from the things that went on back
then.
Q: Have you had any formal training?
Heather Pummer:
Is a model, decorator, dancer,
and artist.
A: Yes. but not as an artist. I have an associates
degree for substance abuse counceling. Thats
the field that I am currently working in.
Q: Please tell me more about your decorating
talents?
A: I love to going to antique shops and thrift
stores to find pieces that most people wouldn’t
even look twice at and then find a way to create
something beautiful with it. I have aquired some
unique things over the years like some 50’s
vintage antique flower vases, goblets and I like to
refinish old pieces of furniture, etc.
Q: Let’s talk about your modeling career. How
long have you been modeling?
A: I have been modeling off and on for about 5 or
6 years. I started modeling to help build my own
self esteem. I really struggled with maintaining
a positive self image. I am a firm believer that
you don’t have to be a certain size or look a
certain way to be beautiful. When I get ready to
do a shoot I constantly keep telling myself “I am
fierce, I am proud, I am beautiful.” I feel that it
shows in my modeling work!
Q: What is your favorite genre of modeling?
A: Implied nude, pinup and glam. I like the
way some photographers play with lighting to
accentuate the female form. I also like black and
white images. I like to do outdoor nature shoots
with natural backdrops and lighting. There is
nothing like findng an old abandoned place that

most people wouldn’t think twice about and
creating some amazing images.
Q: How many publications have you been
featured in?
A: I have been published in 2 calendars. I
am a Diehard Doll and I am also involved in
publications for charities. The latest one was
for Bikers for Babies. I have been in 5 nonmain
stream magazines. Ranging from local to
national and international.
Q: Please tell me more about your personal
insights?
A: I have realized now that I am stable and have
a good family life that allot of people have been
bullied, abused and had many horrible things
happen to them. Yet it is ultimately up to us to
make good choices that have a positive impact
in our lives. The first step is to be honest with
our selves. Because if we can’t be honest with
ourselves, how can we be honest with anybody
else?
Q: Please tell me more about your journey to
regain your self confidence?
A: This is important to me because I am a
recovering meth addict of 11 years and it has
been a big struggle suffering through many
traumatic things in my life. What I learned from
this is that it doesn’t matter how many times
you try, what matters is that you keep trying to
put one foot in front of the other until you reach
your goal. No one is going to do it for you. If
you allow yourself to give up, then that’s on
you. everbody is worthy of having a life and to
experience happiness and joy in that life. I did
allot of horrible things in my past. I had allot of
resentment toward my family and people who put
me in bad situations. I then finally realized that
I put myself in those situations. I finally had a
breakdown and it was then that I finally decided
not to be a victim. I decided instead to be my
own savior and hero.
a movie in my mind as I am reading them. Some
of my favorite things to read is the Black Dagger
Brotherhood, The Night World Series, etc.
Q: You also like to write. What do you like to
write about?
A: I like to write poetry. I did most of my writing
during the dark times of my life. I usually like to
write about hope and the future.
Q: You mentioned that you like fishing?
A: I love fishing! If I could I would fish every day
of my life. I like to fish the local lakes and ponds.
I got to trout fish for the first time this year which
was allot of fun. I also like to catch catfish. I also
like camping. My favorite camping spot is Milford
Lake near Junction City, Kansas.
Q: You like video games. What is your favorite
game?
A: Halo online. I’m not very good at it though, lol.
I also play Grand Theft Auto as well.
Q: Lets talk about movies since you like the
horror genre. What’s your favorite Horror movie?
A: Wow That’s a hard one since there are
so many. The Incidious series is one of my
favorites.
Q: Who is your favorite actor or actress?
A: Chris Hemsworth, the guy that plays Thor.
Patrick Dempsey and Scarlett Johansson. My all
time favorite actress is Angelina Jolie.
Q: Who is your favorite recording artist?
A: My favortie band since I was a little girl was
Corn. I went to see them at Rockfest about three
years ago. I was literally crying when they came
on stage. I was so glad to watch them perform.
Their music really helped me get through some
really though time in my life.
Q: Let’s talk about your hobbies and interests.
You like to read. What kind of things do you like
to read?
A: I like to read fantasy stories.
Witches,Vampires, Werewolves, Dragons and
other creatures of the night. Once I start
reading a book, I get lost in story. It is as if the
world just melts away. The stories play out like

Janna Moon Interview
Chef , model, artist and pianist
Q: What or who inspired you to be a
chef?
A: I thought about what I wanted to do
as a career. So I thought about the
things I like to do and decided that
since I like to cook that I wanted to be
a chef. For me it relieves stress and
it also allows me to being artistic and
creative.
Q: How long have you had a passion
for cooking?
Meet Janna Moon.
She is an exceptional chef and cofounder
of her family business called
Over the Moon Catering. In addition
to being a professional chef, Janna is
also a figure, fashion and art model,
pianist as well as a canvas painter.
Amoung her various hobbies one of
her favorites is riding horses. Janna
has graciously shared one of her recipies
for Spicy Garlic Shrimp Pasta
with us in this magazine issue. Also

A: Years. I have been cooking since
I was 12. Back then I used to cook
spaghetti, I made my sauce from
scratch. I made my first complete
meal when I was 13.
Q: I understand that you also have a
catering business?
A: Its called Over the Moon Catering.
It is small. We offer catering, cooking
lessons and personal chefs.
Q: Where do you see your businesses
success 5 years from now?
A: I see it being well known at least
in the local KC area. Then I can hire
more employees. Currently I have
friends and family that volunteer to
help and support me.
Q: What kind of events do you cater?
A: Breakfasts, Weddings, meal drop
offs for offices and many more events
to come.
Q: Lets talk about your modeling
career. How did you get into
modeling?
A: I was between jobs and decided
to sell some of my art work. While
looking for buyers for my work I
happened by an art studio near

where I lived. The lady that ran the
studio wasn’t interested in buying
any art work but was looking for art
models for her classes. I agreed and
started modeling at her studio. As
time went by I became her top art
model. I then expanded my modeling
by sitting for art classes and various
studios and universities. I later got
into photography modeling which
brought me more work and modeling
opportunities.
Q: How long have you been modeling?
A: About 7 years.
Q: What Genres of modeling do you
like best?
A: I like doing fashion and runway
because I have had a grown woman
walk since I was 12 Lol! My friend is a
fashion designer and I model several
of his creations.
Q: Will you be working in any
upcoming shows in the near future?
A: I usually try to work at the KC
fashion week. My friend is working on
a show for some time this year.
Q: Is modeling just a hobby for you, or
would you like to do it as a career?
A: I would love the opportunity to do
it as a career. Getting paid work can
be a challenge and since I started
modeling at a later age (26), I keep
hearing from photographers, etc that
are looking for younger models.
Q: I would like to talk about your
artistic abilities. What inspires your
passion for the arts. Painting, music,
etc?
A: As a child I was quiet and not
very expressive. So the cooking,
the painting and music helped me to

A: At my peak I created a couple of
paintings every month. But in the past
few years I may only do 1 painting
per year because I work allot. I use it
mostly these days to relieve stress.
Q: In the area of music. What is your
favorite song or musical piano piece
that you like to play?
A: I like to play classical music. My
favorite piece is a ballad by Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart because it is fast
paced and it sounds like you are
making playing mistakes but that is
how it is written. It is a very playful
piece.
Q: What do you like to do to relax?
A: Have a drink, hang out with family
and friends. I like to sleep in.
Q: Who is your favorite entertainer
and why?
A: Michael Jackson and Stevie
Wonder. Because they both always
put on a good show. Michael is gone
but even now you have plenty of new
artists that copy his moves and his
style.
Q: If you could cook for anyone on the
planet, who would it be?
A: Emeril Lagasse. Because we are
both from the South and he is very
inspirational. I would love to cook
with him so he could taste something
I made and he could tell me what he
thinks about it.
Q: So you wouldn’t want to choose
Gordon Ramsay, the Hell’s Kitchen
chef?
A; Ooooh Nooo! Lol! We would end
up fighting!

A: A teacher

A: My friend Gene Peak is the one who
got me into modeling. He said that there

dancing. What style of dance do you
perform?
A: A mix of ballet and gymnastics.
Q: Who inspired you to take up dancing?
A: One of my friends. I was very nervous.
Q: Have you entered into any dance
competitions?
A: No.
Q: Please tell me more about your
artistic inspirations. What kind of
paintings do you create?
A: I like to do anything that inspires me.
Q: What paint mediums do you like to
work with?
A: Acrylics, spray paints and oils. I am
working with a fellow artist currently. We
are planning to do a mural on a building

here in Topeka, Kansas. It should be
done around October of this year.
Q: Who inspired you to be an artist?
A: Myself. I have been creating art since
I was 17 years old. I just started doodling
one day and got better from there.
Q: Have you had any formal training?
A: . I was accepted at the KC Art
Institute, but went to K-State.
Q: You stated that you wanted to work
with fun and exciting people and would
like to make as many artistic creations as
possible. Have you been having fun with
your modeling so far?
A: Yes. Most of the photographers have
been exciting. Some of them have been
a bit wierd, but most of them have the
same ideas that I do as far as what I want
to do.
Q: Do you have any note worthy projects
scheduled in the near future?
A: I have a few shoots set for this
summer. One of them is a body paint
shoot.
Q: If there was a pet modeling project
you could do tomorrow, what would it be?
A: It would be either a beach modeling
shoot or a disco period cosplay shoot.
Q: I understand that in addition to
spending time with family and friends,
you also like working out, fishing, travel
and that you can be described as an
adrenaline junky. Please describe your
basic workout routine?

and she always had a good heart. She
always took care of everybody around

Q: What kind of things give you an
adrenaline rush?
A: I like to skydive and race my car. I
want to go cliff diving in Greece. That’s
on my bucket list.

world, where would it be?
A: Greece.

A: Yellow. Because it’s a happy color!

A: A Pontiac GTO convertible. My ex
had one. It was bright orange, it was

of shoe. I like any style of cute heels!

out my calves and my arms. I do allot of
push ups and pull ups.

Q: You are on the cover of the very first EPM
Artis Magazine. How does it feel?
A: It feels great! I wasn’t expecting to be on the
cover. I’m excited about it.
Q: What was the experience of being body
painted like for you? Were you nervous?
A: I was very nervous. It was my first time. It
was something I have wanted to do for quite
some time but was never brave enough to do it.
So I finally just decided to try it. You made me
feel very comfortable, you are great at what you
do, very professional. I would definitely do it
again.
Jennifer Enyart
Is a very beautiful, sexy model that is full
of energy and life. She is also our very first
cover model for this inaugural EPM Artis
Issue number 1. Where she graciously
agreed to let me body paint her in a festive
yet sexy, Christmas elf theme.
Jen is an admin assistant. As a model
she has been involved in print work,
promotions and a few music videos. Jen
likes to sing, dance and loves the joys of
motherhood. She likes party planning,
being active in general and likes to dabble
in various activities and projects.
Q: You helped me decorate the set for the shoot
and did a fantastic job. You also mentioned your
skills as a party planner. What do you like about
planning such events?
A: I love it. I have always been a person that
likes to decorate and plan events. love having
people over for large gatherings , parties for
kids or barbecues, Whatever it is. I like putting
it together and I have a blast doing it.
Q: You have been modeling since you were 16.
Please tell me more about the types of modeling
you have done since then?
A: I have done promotional work. I’ve done
print work for car and motorcycle magazines.
Q: Which genre of modeling do you like the
best?
A: I like doing it all. I like doing the shoots, as
well as talking to people during promo events.
I’m a very social person. I love getting dressed
up for fashion, glam, cos-play, etc. I really don’t
have a favorite.
Q: Have you done any music videos with
popular recording artists?
A: Not popular artist. Just local underground
hip hop recording artists when I was in
California.
Q: You mentioned that you wanted to rebuild
your empire! Could you please elaborate on that
topic?
A: That is a work in progress since I moved
back to Kansas City from California. I’m starting

over from scratch here. I want to rebuild my
empire of multifaceted things I used to earn
money from before my relocation. Whether its
as a makeup artist, modeling, babysitting, party
planning or other pursuits. I want to build up my
list of new clients, projects and events so that I
can rebuild my dream and get to where I want to
be.
Q: What other types of activities do you enjoy
doing?
A: I like going on hikes, riding bikes, scooters,
etc. I like playing with my son in various
sporting activities. I am not an athlete but I do
love being outdoors. I love sky diving, both
indoor and out of a plane. I’m an adventurous
type of person.
Q: You mentioned that you love to sing?
A: I love to sing in my car and at home. Lol. I
sing all of the time but I’m not looking into doing
it as a career or anything. I like singing because
it makes me feel good.
Q: You also like to dance?
A: I like to go out and dance for recreation. I
love salsa dancing!
Q: Please tell me more about the joys of your
motherhood experience and how it makes you
feel?
A: I absolutely love it! It is definitely life
changing. My dreams had to be put on hold
because now I’m focused on my son. I do
whatever I can to make sure he has what he
needs. I was a stay at home mom for three and a
half years. I Love waking up each day to having
him in my life
Q: Now for some trivia. Who is your favorite
music recording artist?
Q: If money was not an issue, what kind of
vehicle would you buy?
A: I would probably buy a car that runs on water
(Hydrogen fueled car). I also like luxury type
cars like Maserati and BMW. I like the luxury
SUV’s like my Escalade. I could also go for a
Tesla.
Q: If you could own a business, what would it be
and why?
A: A Day Care. Because there is a shortage
of really good ones and it fits well with my skill
sets.
Q: Who are some of your favorite clothing an
apparel designers and what do you like about
them?
A: I like Marciano, Guess and Bebe. I like them
because their clothes fit me well, I’m kind of
a more curvy girl so finding clothes that fit
well can be a challenge. I like to dress up and
Marciano has allot of nice dresses to choose
from.
Q: What is your favorite food dish and what is
your favorite desert?
A: Sushi. I love Sushi mi. I love food. I love
Asian, Mexican, American,Italian, etc. I could
eat most anything. Desert is by far my favorite!
I am a sweet-a-holic, so anything chocolate
works pretty much. I’m a choc-o-holic! My go to
desert would be ice cream with chocolate and
peanut butter brownies.
Q: Final question. If you had the time and or
the money, what adventure would you like to
experience?
A: Paragliding would be fun. Also a safari and a
cruise.
A: If I could go to see anybody, I’d love to see
Lauren Hill. But currently I enjoy The Weekend.
But I love my old school music. The Roots, De La
Soul. I listen to allot of hip hop. I also listen to
Rock.
Q: What is your favorite vacation spot?
A: I would like to go to CostaRica or the
Maltese Islands. I would like to take my son to
the Hawaiian Islands. I would love to go on an
African safari.

Libertas: Sexy, Primal. Editorial F. Hughes
“A Special Thanks to my body

* The goddess Libertas, Liberty is seen as a
Pagan Goddess by certain religious and political
groups.
* The symbolic persona of Liberty inspires
people with such deep passion and love that
they will sacrifice their wealth, safety and even
their very lives to support and defend the very
ideal and essence of her.
* The Statue of Liberty in New York harbor is a
constant reminder to us of what we as a nation
have stood for for that past 240 years. Which
seems like a long time but isn’t even a drop in
the bucket when compared to country’s and
civilizations like Egypt, Greece, Italy or the
Ancient Persian Empires (Iraq, Iran, Saudi
Arabia, etc) who’s civilizations thrived long
before the birth of Jesus.
* The Statue of Liberty was the creation of
the French sculptor and free mason Frederic
Bartholdi, based on a conceptual idea and
successful fund raising efforts of Frenchman
and fellow free mason Edward Laboulaye .
Batholdi with assistance of French engineer
Alexandre Gustave Eiffel (The Eiffel Tower in
Paris) designed and assembled the statue. She
was presented as a gift to the American people
in 1886 by the people of France.
* What we weren’t taught in school was the true
origin of where the idea of the statue came from
as well as its meaning.
* Lady Liberty as she is known was created
based on the Roman Goddess Libertas. Her
popularity can be traced as far back as the 5th
Century BC. She was referred to as the Goddess
of personal freedom and liberty. The name
Libertas actually means “freedom”. She was
so popular because she promoted the ideals of
having the personal freedom to do anything that
felt good. Of course like a so called enlightened
society there were varying view points on the
definition of personal freedom. That is why
Libertas was called the goddess of prostitution
( Indeed she had invented that concept) as well
as the goddess of slaves who had hopes of
winning their freedom. Many women who gained
their freedom during ancient times turned to
prostitution in order to survive. She was also a
goddess of war and victory because one must
be willing to fight for freedom and must achieve
victory in order for freedom to survive.
* Libertas was also the Goddess of immigrants
since they usually migrated in order to seek out
more personal freedoms and a better life. Her
popularity was unique because of her doctrine
of hearing personal prayers. Of course like
most civilizations including ours, the Romans
borrowed virtues in creating the persona of

Libertas from civilizations that had come before
them. They borrowed from the Greeks Goddess
Aphrodite, who borrowed from the Babylonian
Goddess Ashtoreth/Ishtar, who borrowed from
the Sumerian Goddess Ninanna, who borrowed
from the Phoenician Goddess Astarte. The
Egyptians called her Isis.
* Libertas image was stamped onto variuos
Roman coins. Some coins depicted her as
wearing a freedom cap and holding a wreath
in one hand and a sword or spear in the other.
She was also depicted sometimes draped in
robes (Like the Libertas figure on the Columbia
Pictures Logo) and at other times seductively
nude in both sculptures and paintings. Libertas
was later changed to the Goddess Venus when
the Romans embraced additional attributes
other than just liberty doctrines from Ishtar.
* Ishtar had a doctrine of salvation of holy
sexual relations with a temple priest or priestess
as an offering of thanksgiving for purification
and holiness. This of course entailed paying
money and thus it was officially sanctioned
and therefore holy prostitution. She was also
the Goddess of war and victory because she
fought for freedom and liberty. She was also the
Goddess of love because of her sexuality and
her promotion of various sexual perversions in
the name of freedom. Her Motto was “if it feels
good then do it”. She was also the Goddess of
the planet Venus.
* Ishtar/Libertas was the same general theme we
heared during the 1960’s. The world’s so called
superpowers nations behave on a regular basis
like an Ishtar in the name of libertas engaging in
a monetary and materialistic form of prostitution
everyday. Buying and selling each others
currencies, goods, favors, secrets and debits for
something in return.
* The statue of Liberty was a concept conceived
from within the doctrines of free masonry. It is a
statue of masonic enlightenment Thus the seven
spikes on her crown. The tablets represent the
general concept of law. There are many more
masonic symbols built into the statue. However
one of the most note worthy thoughts about
the statue is that because many scholars and
historians link Lady Liberty to the Goddesses
Libertas, IE Aphrodite, IE Ashtoreth, IE Ishtar,
that makes the statue the largest pagan idol ever
made by human hands.
* The Goddess Liberty/Libertas imagery can be
seen in many forms in our nation today and is a
major part of our culture. She is on the New York
state flag. The Great seal of the commonwealth
of Virginia. The great Seal of New Jersey. As
a statue on top of the dome of the U.S. Capitol
building in Washington D.C. In paintings,
coins,etc used by both sides during the U.S. Civil
War. She has also been seen in demonstrations
and rallies all over the world. Such as the one
in Beijing China in May 1989 and of course the
French revolution in 1789.
* Because of these ancient beliefs that gave
birth to freedom doctrines, treaties and
legislation throughout the world as well as giving
birth to our great nation, today we have Freedom
in pop culture. Freedom in political conviction.
Freedom in religion. Freedom in fashion.
Freedom in everyday life. Freedoms expressed in
popular modern day music for example; George
Michael, Freedom 90. Elton John, Philadelphia
Freedom 1973. Bob Marley, Redemption 1980.
Public Enemy, Fight The Power 1988. Michael
McDonald, Sweet Freedom 1986. Daryl Worley,
Have you Forgotten 2003. Toby Keith, American
Soldier 2003. Alicia Keys, Sure looks good to
me 2007. Michael Jackson, Where has Freedom
Gone 2011. Pharrell Williams, Freedom 2015.
* Modern day fashion designers like Dior,
Valentino, Ferretti and Halston have been
inspired to create gowns, dresses, footwear and
jewelry by fashions from the Ancient Republics
and Democracy’s in which these Goddesses
of Liberty were worshiped such as Greece and
Rome.
* Our very own U.S Government in its creation
was patterned after basic templates of
both Ancient Roman and Greek bodies of
government.
* These freedoms we enjoy would not be
possible without the hard work, sacrifice and
passion by the people who strive, fight and
die for our freedoms and independence each
and everyday. We owe them a tremendous
debt of gratitude and thanks for what they
do for us, while asking for nothing in return.
So if you know any of these brave, dedicated
men and women, the next time you see them
you could just say to them, “Thank you for
your service”.
* That is what freedom is. The freedom to
love, hate, praise, ridicule, embrace and
rebel for and or against the things that
touch us in our lives. It is not always pretty
or joyful, nor should it be. Because life is
not pretty or joyful all of the time. We can
however make it what we want it to be for us.
With work, blood, sweat and tears we can
preserve the love and joy that we cherish so
much as a free people and society. In doing
so, we can keep freedom and liberty alive for
us and for our future generations.

Interview with Bailey.
Q: How long have you been modeling?
A: I have been modeling for about 4 years since I
was 18. I started off doing unpaid shoots. I liked
how my pictures turned out and decided to give
it a shot and try to make something out of it.
Q: Whats your favorite genre of modeling?
A: Artistic nude. I like this genre because I think
that the body is one of the purest of art forms.
Q: Who or what inspired you to persue modeling?
A: No particular person inspired me to do this. I
was 18 with no idea of what I wanted to do. So I
decided to give modeling a shot. I did get some
inspiration from various sources like magazines,
even from senior pictures.
Q: Where do you see your modeling career going
in the next 5 years?
A: I hope to merge it with my travels. I travel at
least a couple of times per year. I would like
to collaborate on projects with artists from
around the world. That way I can get ideas from
different perspectives. Then perhaps I can get
published more.
Q: Do you have any upcoming modeling shoots
or shows in the near future?
A: Not at present.
Q: Please tell me more about your artistic side?
A: I like to collect allot of small items. I use them
to create textured artworks. Such as taking sea
shells and putting onto a canvas. Then I ad paint
designs as well as random spatter to create my
art.
Q: How many pieces of art do you create in a
year?
A: I create around 6 pieces during that time. It
can take a long time to finish a piece. I currently
have 3 pieces that I have started working on.
Q: Have you sold any of your artwork?
A: I did once to an old friend. I do it mostly for
therapudic reasons. For me it helps to relieve
stress.
Q: You are a dancer. Please tell me more about
your dancing?
A: I am a burlesque dancer and part of a circus
troop in Kansas City called Cirque Du Risque.
I have been a part of the troop for a little
over a year. We bring allot of variety to our
performances. I try to vary my routines and I am
always working to create new ones to keep my
performances fresh and vibrant.
Q: Do you perform locally or do you go on tour?
A: We perform monthly in Kansas City at the
Prohibition Hall. We also book occasional
shows throughout the year as well as perform at
festivals and events in the local area.
Q: How did you get into performing:
A: I grew up with a love for the theatre. I worked
in theatrical productions from the time I was in
middle School through high school. I also did
some community theatre. After high school I still
attended performances but did not participate.
Then I went to some burlesque shows and fell in
love with the costumes and the routines. That
is when I knew that I wanted to be a burlesque
dancer. I then kept going to the shows and
talking to people. I finally got involved with the
show as a stage hand. Then it all took off from
there.
Q: You said that you wanted to be recognized
in the art community. What plans do you have
currently that will help you reach your goal?
A: At present I think that my travels and meeting
more creative people will help allot. As well as
continuing my modeling and perhaps doing some
cinematography. I am also working harder to get
my name out there.
Q: You mostly excel at modeling. If you could do
any kind of modeling shoot, what would it be?
A: It would definitely be a dark, creepy,macabre
type of shoot. I’ve seen the zombie type of
shoots but I want to do something that would
be darker than zombies. I think a shoot like that
would be great!
Q: You like to travel. Please tell me more about
the places you have been to?
A: I have been to 11 different countries. Most

of my time has been in Eastern Europe. I have
also spent time in Canada and Mexico. I like to
Country hop, spending at least a couple of days
in each country having fun, making new friends,
then traveling via bus or train to the next town or
country I want to visit.
Q: Which countries have you visited in 2016?
A: I was in the U.K. for an evening, Iceland,
Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Germany. I got
sick in Norway so I had to cancel some of my
travel plans. I hope to do more traveling in the
spring of 2017.
Q: What other places would you like to visit?
A: I would like to visit Switzerland, the Ukrane
and Spain. My family spent allot of time there
before I was born. I also want to go to Italy. I
never wanted to see the large tourist attractions.
I feel that they are overrated and too expensive.
Q: You like to study history. What are some of
your favorite historical subjects?
A: I had a huge interest in world war II when I
was growing up, which is one of the reasons
I wanted to see Germany. I saw a couple of
different exhibits while I was there like the Ann
Frank house in Berlin. The actual escape house
is in Amsterdam so I got to see both of those
locations. I also visited the site of the Berlin Wall.
I find the little historical things that shape a city,
town or country as a whole to be fascinating. I
have been to the Oslo Norway bombing site as
well as similar locations throughout the U.S.. You
get a first hand feel for what went on there and
how it helped to shape the way things are today.
are tourist things to do in the area, it didn’t feel
touristy. It is also surrounded by water and I love
the ocean.
Q: What is your favorite drink when you are out
on the town?
A: If they don’t have a good beer selection I will
just go with a jack and coke. Before each one of
my shows I have a shot of Patron.
Q: Let’s talk about your featured bodypaint
theme. What are your thoughts about the
Royals and their 2015 season winning the World
Series?
A: That was such an awesome feeling and such
an amazing thing to watch! Watching each
game over the entire season, then the play offs
and then the World Series, it seemed like each
game was more impressive than the last. The
season kept us on our toes to see how our team
was doing. I felt the 2015 season really brought
Kansas City together. I was in Belgium around
the time of the parade but I saw pictures and the
turn out was insane! I remember the overhead
view of this ocean of people dressed in Royals
blue celebrating the team’s championship. It was
amazing to see the city come together like that.
Q: Lets switch to a lighter subject. What is your
favorite song of 2016 so far?
A: I really like the remake of “you don’t own me”
by Grace that is featured in the movie Suicide
Squad. I like the original, but the remake of it
was absolutely stunning!
Q: What is your favorite vacation spot?
A: Requivik Iceland. It is an extremely peaceful
place. I don’t think I have ever been more
relaxed than when I was there. It has that
small village vibe about it. Everything felt so
connected. There was also a beautiful nightlife.
It wasn’t high energy. Everything was so smooth,
calm and non commercialized. Even tough there

Taste of Colorado.
While in Denver this past Labor day weekend 2016, I had a chance to visit an annual event
called The Taste of Colorado. The festival is held from Friday through Monday during Labor Day
weekend downtown at the Civic Center Park at the Colorado State Capitol.
The event has many features including cuisine and tasty treats from more than 50 restaurants
and food vendors from all over the greater Denver area as well as more than 275 arts and crafts
vendors from all over the country. Featuring vendors selling hand made furniture, jewelry, home
and gift items.

There are plenty of thrills and entertainment for the kids with shows, carnival rides, games and
educational exhibits as well as face painting booths.
However the part of the festival that impressed me the most was the variety of Rock, Country
and R&B music from a range of local and regional bands as well as headliners to listen to on 6
different stages. Saturday evening featured the silky smooth old school sounds headline group
Boys II Men. Even though its 20 plus years later, the group who originated from Philadelphia, PA
put on a fabulous performance that their Colorado fans will remember for a long time to come.
Fans were wowed as they listened to timeless hit songs and ballads by the group like End of the
Road, Waters Run Dry, I’ll Make Love To You, Motown Philly , Hard to Say Good by,
Bended Knee and more. The 4 time Grammy Award winning trio is still the best selling R&B
group of all time with more than 60 million albums sold. In addition to the 4 Grammys. Boys II
Men has won 9 American Music Awards, 9 Soul Train Awards and 3
Billboard Awards. Not only has the group solidified their place in music history but they also
believe in giving back to the community through their charity called Boys II Men House. Which
lends support to people and organizations that focus on improving quality of life while helping
to unlock human potential. With Iconic fans like Justin Bieber, Usher, Justin Timberlake and
Beyonce, it’s no wonder why this trio of R&B music royalty and their hits have stood strong over
