AMHERST
A town otf six thousand inhabitants, is beautifully loca'ted
in the valley east of the Connecticut River and north
of the Holyoke rang-e of mountains. It is the seat O'f two
noted educational institutions—Amherst College and Massachusetts
Agricultural College. Originally part of the town
of Hadley.
The Central ^Massachusetts division of the B. & M. R. R.
and New London Northern division of the C. V. Ry. pass
through the town. Connected by the electric railway with
Northampton, Holyoke, Sunderland and Pelham.
