WORLD-CLASS ORGANIZATION E S T A B L I S H E D I N 2 0 0 8 We pride ourselves at welcoming new athletes to the Alpine Insurance Alberta World Cup Academy (AIAWCA) by ensuring that we focus on the athlete's current fitness and racing profile when joining our organization. Each of our athlete's Yearly Training Plan (YTP) is a reflection of their unique personal training and racing goals. Our two full-time coaches continue to monitor and adjust the YTP throughout the year to the athletes' needs. "OUR GOAL IS TO TAKE SKIERS FROM THEIR CLUB TO THE OLYMPICS. WE THINK THAT WE ARE PRETTY GOOD AT IT!" WORLD-CLASS LOCATION Every possible scenario for training and competition can be accommodated at the world-renowned "Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park" High and low altitude terrain and state-of-the-art facilities Dryland training on the paved 5 km roller skiing loop, running, ski striding On-snow training available 11 months of the year Early October on-snow training 65 km of pristine tracked trails WinSport Bill Warren Training Centre With over 75 pieces of strength training and cardiovascular machines, functional and strength training equipment, spin bikes, TRX suspension training, showers in the accommodating locker rooms and dry sauna. Strength training Roller skiing treadmill for testing When not training at the Canmore Nordic Centre, we can be found discovering other Bow Valley gems around Lake Louise, Banff, the Peter Lougheed Provincial Park and even summer training at Haig Glacier. We own two vans that allow us to transport athletes for team training to the location that is best suited for our training requirements. www.albertaworldcup.com The AIAWCA office is based out of the Bill Warren Training Centre in Canmore. We also have a team wax room where athletes store their racing equipment at the Canmore Nordic Centre. 3
