(President Calderone in a Press Conference)
Problem: Population Causes Environmental Problems
Stage Worker: Have a seat Mr. Calderone. Good to have you here.
Calderone: My pleasure. (President Calderone sits down)
Camera man: Okay... you’re on in 3...2...1... go!
Anchor: Hello and welcome to Mexican News Today. Our top story today is President Calderone talking about our
population and environmental problems. Now we’ll hand it over to our interviewer, Bob.
Interviewer: Thank you John. Here I have a live press conference with President Calderone. So President, why do
you think our population is a problem?
Calderone: Well Bob, our population is causing a very big environmental problem. We have about 4.5 million cars
and many factories polluting our air quality. This will give us bad air that we breathe every second.
Interviewer: Wow President, is that your only problem with our population?
Calderone: Oh no Bob, another problem is that wells in our city are causing the buildings to sink!
Interviewer: No way!
Calderone: Yes really! And, since 1900, some buildings in downtown have sunk 29 meters!
Interviewer: Oh my!
Calderone: It’s horrible!
Interviewer: It is! Do you have any suggestions to help all of these problems?
Calderone: Yes, in fact I do. People should buy hybrids, but I can’t convince the whole city to buy one, can I?
Interviewer: No, that would be difficult.
Calderone: we could also ride bikes if we don’t need to go very far.
Interviewer: That’s a very good idea Mr. Calderone!
Calderone: Thank you Bob.
Interviewer: What about the flooding problem?
Calderone: Hmm... I was thinking we could stop using wells and have our water imported from somewhere else. Our
water isn’t very good any way, if you haven’t noticed.
Interviewer: Hmm... that might take a while though...
Calderone: Better late than never!
Interviewer: Well, that is true... Our time is over so I’ll send it back to you John.
Anchor: Thank you Bob, maybe I’ll buy a hybrid now. Well our session is over so we’ll see you tomorrow at 7:30 PM.
From all of us on Mexican News Today, goodbye!
